Kurt Levias Jr. was gunned down at a rap concert at the Bluebird Theater in Denver Colorado on August 4th, 2004. The 21-year old was acting as a bodyguard for his sister who was also a rapper when a melee broke out, and he tragically was gunned down trying to take her to his car while fleeing the hail of bullets.
What's even more tragic about this case is it is the poster child for the "stop snitching" culture. The picture of the suspect is no longer on AMW.COM but I found it above on google images. He was believed to be travelling with a rap group and on the video identifies his nicknames. AMW showed the video where he appeared to call himself "Slim Rider" and "Mac Slim The General". Although an article below identifies his nickname as "Simm Ryder" The suspect is 6'4, 220 pounds.
This case really pissed me off when I saw it on AMW last October 5th because there is no reason for it to still be unsolved. The suspect is on video camera. His nicknames were known. The rap group he was with and others refused to cooperate with Denver P.D. TONS of people must know who this guy is, but nobody has come forward. Of all the unknown cases AMW showed on Lifetime, I thought this was by far the easiest unknown case to solve. But still no one has had the courage to come forward.
There was an outside rap group visiting from the bay area, and AMW stated the suspect is likely from there. I'm just a fan site, but in the off-chance anyone who knows anything reads this, I would urge anyone who wants to come forward but is afraid to call or e-mail AMW where they can remain anonymous. Kurt Levias didn't deserve to die just for defending his sister.
