(Above photo credit: thelafayettesun.com) Fugitive Profile as of December 4th, 2017 (Based on Alabama Department of Public Safety 2011 profile): Name: Pike ,David Anthony Gender: Male Race: White Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Black Height: 5'5 Weight: 125 lbs. Current Age: 56 Year(s) Age Last Seen: 24 Location Last Seen: Opelika, Alabama Aliases: Wayne, Phillip, Wayne Pike Scars, Marks, & Tattoos: Scars - Knee, nonspecific(Scars on both knees.) Tattoos - Arm, left(Tattoo of a cross on upper left arm. Who to call if you've seen him: Valley Crimestoppers at 1-800-756-8282David Anthony Pike has been wanted by Alabama authorities for nearly 30 years. He was aired once on AMW on Sep 28, 2002 (probably the commercial break case). On Jun 21, 1985, Pike, 23-year old Calvin Lee Irwin and a third man drove off in Pike's car in Opelika, Alabama after they had spent several hours together. Authorities say Pike and his accomplice decided to rob Calvin but ended up beating and shooting Calvin to death. After Calvin's body was found in a roadside ditch, both Pike and his accomplice were arrested in connection with the murder. Pike was released on bond and then vanished. Thoughts? The Alabama Department of Public Safety thinks that Pike may be in Michigan for whatever reason. Wherever he is, he's probably in a small town, doing odd jobs and not drawing attention to himself. dps.alabama.gov/community/wfAlertFlyer.aspx?ID=48593f38-f694-446a-b931-671a081fdc4aAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I pretty much agree with you. Just wanted to state I hate that a guy accused of a robbery/murder was let out on bond. These judges drive me nuts sometimes.

I am Calvin's niece. It's easy to be granted bond and disappear when you have friends/family in high places and money in your pockets...

And unfortunately it is true- money talks and so do connections. I'm also sorry it's been nearly 30 years. While many people wait a long time to see justice for their loved one, only a select few can say they have waited this long. I hope one day we can find out what happened to David Pike and he is caught and goes to prison. I never want to use the word closure, but a sense of justice of at least if he's caught and convicted.

There has been a lot of sweeping under the rug regarding this case. I was told last night by the current sheriff "if you think you can find him go ahead. Why have you waited all these years?" We have never given up. We were just depending on the wrong people to do their jobs. There have been several offers from different groups to help on the case but they always hit a road block dealing with the sheriff's department. It took an act of congress getting it profile very briefly on AMW. David has been seen in and around Valley, Alabama for years. He attended the funeral of his mother, yet always seems to "slip" away before he can be picked up. Nothing stays buried forever and one day justice will be served on EVERYONE involved in this case.

I think the FBI needs to be brought in to do a little investigating of their own.

Wow. This really doesn't sound like such a "cold case" if people are reporting seeing him around town. Amazing how he still hasn't been arrested yet. I agree the FBI should be investigating the case. If it's been 30 years and he still hasn't been caught despite these sightings and leads, a federal agency should step in.

I just don't know how to get it into the hands of the right people. Any suggestions? There seems to be a mafia style hold on everything that goes on down here.

Well since you mentioned the FBI here's the information for their Birmingham office (I'm assuming that's who would handle the case): 1000 18th Street North Birmingham, AL 35203 Phone: (205) 326-6166 Fax: (205) 279-1590 E-mail: birmingham@ic.fbi.gov www.fbi.gov/birminghamAlso, while The Hunt seems to select cases based on their own research as opposed to AMW who had a physical address for case requests, perhaps there's a way to get their attention. Not sure if this would help since it took an act of congress to get Pike on AMW in the first place, not to mention the Sheriff's office would need to agree to cooperate (I don't know this for a fact but I'm assuming they'd need to for a tv show)- but CNN's Facebook page supposedly will take feedback on a show and forward it to the show's Producers. So perhaps it is a way to get The Hunt's attention if you message CNN. www.facebook.com/cnn

Thanks for posting the link. We met with Sgt Wood yesterday. He has been working on the case for awhile now. After speaking with him, I believe they are doing everything possible to find him. We just didn't know because no one has ever tried to keep us updated. I'm going to stay in touch with him and hopefully one day soon will see Pike brought to justice.

This would make a great case for The Hunt since AMW only did two minutes and thanks to shadowswife we're learning there's so much more to this story and so many updates. As I've mentioned with other cases here, all we can do is hope if any of the TPTB comes across his profile here or elsewhere they consider the case. They don't do as many cases or air as many fugitives as as AMW , but they did two cold cases last season.
