I just learned that there's going to be a BRAND NEW Netflix show coming August 5th!!!!!!! I didn't know as to which category/label I wanted to copy and paste this news on in this forum but I just had to alert all of you fellow crime fighters and sleuthers that there's a NEW show coming on 08/05/20..... "WORLD'S MOST WANTED" season 1 is going to air 5 episodes, 2 of those episode(s) include 2 names that I know all too very well of...... "El Mayo" Zampata (drug lord) Semion Mogilevich (Fraudster/Russian Mobster) www.msn.com/en-us/video/news/worlds-most-wanted-official-trailer-netflix/vp-BB17fqDo

Well looks like they officially stole John Walsh's idea but still looks like a cool show that I'll definitely watch. Also I will move this to the General TV discussion since it's a crime show, but once again not to poo-poo great news as it's good to get a fugitive show on Netflix albeit an overall world show but as I told you about 7,566,678 times already, I requested you always post any new threads in off-topic and then I'll decide whether to leave them in off-topic or move them somewhere else, there is no need to worry about where to place something or even comment that you aren't sure where to place something, the answer is to ALWAYS post in off-topic and then I'll move the thread if I decide it belongs somewhere else Today is one of those days where I actually decided your thread can be moved to a different section, but you followed my instructions so thank you.

Well El Chapo makes no sense unless the idea is about overall most wanted and what those manhunts are like even if they get caught but Felicen they may have filmed before he was caught as these Netflix shows spend a long time in development.

2 questions:
Throwing aside who the host would be, how much of a miracle might it take for a World's Most Wanted viewer to bust such a powerful criminal, let alone politically powerful?

Actually.... one of the dirt bags has already been nabbed in Paris, France earlier this recent May, the one they call Kabuga....... So you may want to see if it was a tipster that brought him down or if it was team work with police in Paris and Africa. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIT9kdmSHho

It looks like this is a Netflix docuseries that has nothing to do with AMW, hence why I (half-joking half-serious) said they "stole" JW's concept as he's been talking about doing a similar show for years and hence there may be no host as most of the crime docs on Netflix, even the new Unsolved Mysteries, do not have a host.

AMW veteran Samantha Lewthwaite (aka, Natalie Webb) is also going to be profiled, it appears.

It should be coming out tomorrow but just another warning from what I'm reading that the show is more about how they became the World's Most Wanted as opposed to actually trying to catch them (I read an article that mentions unlike AMW, these people are too powerful to just be caught by a random couch potato, which is true, this is why El Chapo was never added to the top ten list). That doesn't mean it won't be an interesting show, hopefully it doesn't glorify them but it's more about an in-depth study of how one becomes most wanted/that level of evil as opposed to "let's catch this guy." That's what some articles claim, we can judge for ourselves soon.

I saw the first episode on Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada-Garcia and it was interesting. I don't want to sound like a prude and I understand we cover terrible cases on here, but I felt the first episode was kind of too bloody and glory for even me- they talk about the opiod crisis and show a mother laying on the ground of a supermarket aisle looking deceased as her daughter tries to get her to wake up and then later they show dead and bloodied bodies as a result of the cartel violence. It is a catch-22 situation as I understand pictures often speak louder than just words- people are a lot less likely to sympathize with the fugitive when they see the havoc and destruction they caused but I think they should have done a better job at warning us this show was going to be bloody and gory.
They also mention at the end that all subjects in the documentary are innocent until proven guilty and there's nothing about if you have a tip contact so and so so that sort of further stresses this may not be the type of show us as AMW fans are necessary into- it's more documentary than interactive crime fighting.
Overall the show is good so far though. Just isn't an AMW or even The Hunt type of show.
