A Day Like Any Other..
October 21, 2005 started like any other day at the Tassone Equipment Corporation on Long Island. Inside the warehouse, workers were busily packing boxes of restaurant supplies to ship to customers. But around 11:40 a.m., that routine day came to a screeching halt.
Detectives say that morning, 35-year-old stock clerk Darlin Fajardo, became enraged and walked over to his supervisor, Robert Sisia. Witnesses told police the two began arguing and Fajardo pulled out a steak knife and stabbed Sisia once in the chest. Witnesses say Sisia then stumbled into the clerk's area of the warehouse and muttered "he stabbed me." They quickly called 911, but Sisia died en route to the hospital. Cops say Fajardo left the facility and drove away in his car--a 1994 green Ford Thunderbird with New York tags DHA-8863.
The Hunt for Fajardo
Nassau County detectives got the call and immedietely went on the hunt for Darlin Fajardo. Cops found Fajardo's car ditched about a block away from his home in New Cassel, N.Y., but they soon realized another car registered to him was also missing.
Police say Fajardo hasn't been home since the murder, even though his common-law wife recently had a baby. Investigators believe Fajardo could be in New York or somewhere in Florida, Virginia, or Texas.
Cops: Both Men Were Hardworkers; Motive Unknown
Witnesses told police both Sisia and Fajardo were hard-working and reliable. Robert Sisia had worked for the company for more than two decades and never missed a day of work. Fajardo also had a good work record and was known to be a good employee.
Police believe the two men had an ongoing dispute, but are not exactly sure what it was about -- or how it could lead to murder.
Thoughts? Fajardo was at least aired twice on AMW according to the most recent archive I could find- which was unfortunately 2007. The good news is his possible locations are all listed as in America, meaning there's a possibility he didn't flee the country. The bad news is he still hasn't been found.
Nine years is way too long to wait for justice. Let's get Robert Sisisa's family the great news they deserve.
