Lynne Brown had two young sons, five-year old Geoffrey and seven-year old Leslie. She also had a history of mental problems and had threatened to kill her own mother with a butcher knife. She also told a friend that if her ex-husband Lyman won custody of their sons, that she would kill them and Lyman would never find her. On Mar 12, 1975, the bodies of Geoffrey and Leslie were found at a park near Estacada, Oregon, both were shot in the back of the head. Lynne's car was found abandoned at the park with gun shells and a receipt for the .38 caliber revolver. In 2006, a warrant was issued for Lynne Brown for the murders of her sons. Thoughts? Investigators in Clackamas County, Oregon admit that Lynne Brown may be dead and considering her mental health problems, that is quite possible. However, if she died then her remains have never been identified. Since an arrest warrant wasn't issued for 31 years, then she could have started a new life somewhere else and no one would know she's a wanted fugitive now. I'm mildly surprised this case wasn't on AMW. But the warrant wasn't until 2006 so if she were to be on the show it probably would have been during the last two years on Fox when they were doing all those cold cases (at least she would have been a fugitive as opposed to unsolved murders from the 50's and 60's *sigh*)
The fact that she told her husband he'd never find her makes me wonder if what she meant by that was she would kill herself. But the fact she wasn't with the bodies and Clackamas County, for whatever reason, chose to issue a warrant 31 years later indicates there may be a possibility she's still alive.

I no longer see Lynne Brown on the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office website but they seem to have removed most of their cold case fugitives for newer ones. As far as I can tell, she is still at large as of this update (7/29/2018). However, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.

I'd only be speculating but it seems they believed there was a strong possibility she was deceased initially so perhaps that.factored into what took so long. They could still think she's dead but without definitive proof decided to err on the side of caution and issue a warrant anyway.

Brown was 26 back in 1975 according to google searches for her age so she'd be around 72 years old today.
