Joel Marquez is wanted by the Tustin, California police department for murder. I'm fairly certain he was never aired on AMW. On Oct 14, 1996, Joel Marquez bludgeoned his roommate, Alberto Rosario to death in their apartment. Shortly after, Alberto's brother arrived and went inside the apartment. Joel and the brother then argued and Joel attacked him, causing a head injury and bruises. The motive for the murder may have been that Joel owed Alberto money. Joel had told friends that he came to California because he was wanted for murder out of Mexico, but it's unknown if that was ever determined to be true. Thoughts? Despite the Tustin Police Department last updating their Most Wanted page in 2011, I checked the Orange County, California warrants page and found that Joel Marquez is still wanted. This is an extremely dangerous fugitive, especially if it's true that he also killed someone in Mexico. Admin Note #1: According to past online wanted flyers, Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Joel Marquez should call the Tustin Police Department at Tustin Police Department at (714) 573-3250. You can remain anonymous when calling them.Admin Note #2: If you have any updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-formwww.tustinpd.org/wanted/flyers/Wanted8.htmarticles.latimes.com/1996-10-17/local/me-54830_1_tustin-slaying

When a fugitive wanted for murder in the states is also wanted for murder, or in this case *possibly* wanted for murder in Mexico, it complicates things.
On one hand Mexico's sentences don't seem to be harsh as the U.S. There's no death penalty. Hector "Tombstone" Fragoso killed a ton of victims and only got 30 years. But on the other end, getting punished for murder in Mexico as opposed to the U.S. also means you have to deal with Mexican prison, which isn't exactly a cake walk the way they're described.
So you have to wonder if Marquez was wanted for murder if he weighed his options in that regard. Of course California seems to never execute anyone any more despite having a death penalty so perhaps a moot point.
For some reason it wouldn't surprise me if he was still in California or is travelling back and forth.

The Tustin wanted flyers link is no longer working for me, but Marquez is still listed in Orange County warrants search under Joel Munoz Marquez as of 12/9/2016. ws.ocsd.org/ArrestWarrants/default.aspx
