(Above photo credit: projectcoldcase.org) From the Texas Department of Public Safety website: DETAILS: On 08/25/2004, Katara Deboise Johnson, 21, worked a late shift at Taco Bell in Taylor Texas. After work, Katara drove home to her trailer located on N. Dolan Street in Taylor. The next day, she was found shot and killed inside her home. Her red Mitsubishi Lancer had been stolen and was later located at the Thorndale Community Pool. Katara was a vibrant, young, black woman who was excited about life and had recently hosted a gathering at the Taylor Community Center. The investigation has stalled and the Texas Rangers are seeking the public's help to solve this brutal crime. Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 to any person who provides informationthat leads to the arrest of the person/persons responsible forthis crime. To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters MUST call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477). All tips are anonymous. Tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
