Juan Garcia-Diaz, wanted for the murder of his girlfriend, was aired in February of 2008 on America's Most Wanted. Below is the archive description which I found on another message board:
A Relationship's Tragic End
Police say that when Juan Garcia Diaz escorted his estranged ex-girlfriend, Melina Fuentes De Rosas, to dinner on the evening of December 17, 2005, it would be their last dinner together. While they had been a couple for years prior and had a three year-old-son, their relationship was rocky. Neither Juan nor Melina had spoken of their dinner to any of their friends or family members. In fact, Melina told her mother she was going out with friends earlier that evening.
Cops say the couple arrived at the Melting Pot restaurant around 9:30 pm and dined until approximately 11:30pm. Police say that Melina called her mother around 1:30 am to let her know she was okay. That was the last time Melina was heard from.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Department received a call at 9am on December 18, 2005 offering the information that the front end of a sedan was submerged in the Arizona canal near Gilbert Road just outside of Mesa, Arizona. The car was towed from the water and the lifeless body of Melina De Rosas was hunched forward in the front passenger seat. Investigators identified the body and began looking for clues.
Later that evening, detectives questioned Juan Garcia-Diaz at his home. Police say there were scratches on his face that appeared to be from another person clawing or scratching at him defensively. Police photographed Diaz and his injuries for possible evidence. Juan claimed that he was not with Melina the night of her murder. Detectives say there was not enough evidence to produce a warrant.
Detectives later recovered the footage from the surveillance cameras from the Melting Pot and were able to identify the couple at the restaurant. Police say Garcia-Diaz used his bank card to pay for the meal. Officials returned to Garcia's home for further questioning and found that he had already fled.
Officials believe that Garcia-Diaz may have fled to Guerrero, Mexico to live with his sister. They also believe he may be in Phoenix, Ariz. or with his brother in Florida.
Thoughts? As far as I know, Garcia-Diaz is still at large as of this posting date (6/24/2015) since I haven't found any articles suggesting otherwise. As always, if anyone has proof otherwise, please feel free to let us know.
