From click2houston.com: HOUSTON - Officials are searching for a man wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child on Oct. 20, 1997. Police said Deandrea Miller, 40, forced his way into a home in the 6200 block of Berkridge Drive, turned off the electricity in the house and entered the bedroom where a juvenile was sleeping. Officials said Miller then covered the child's face and sexually assaulted her. Miller was later identified through investigative evidence. He is described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 180 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his right shoulder. Anyone with information on Miller's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.www.click2houston.com/news/officials-search-for-man-wanted-in-1997-child-sex-assaultThoughts? I'm not sure if Miller has been on the run since 1997 or if simply DNA evidence simply revealed he allegedly committed the crime in 1997 but regardless I'm placing this case in the fugitives before 2000 section since that's the year the crime was allegedly committed. I can't say this for certain, but the photo we have of Deandrea Miller looks more recent to me than one taken in or before 1997, so it sounds like he's been identified recently through DNA evidence. Aside from needing to capture Deandrea, investigators also have to look back since 1997 as to any other children he may have been in contact with to see if they are any other victims.

I can't find Miller in Harris County's online criminal court records (which would be nice since it would confirm when his warrant is actually from) but as far as I can tell, he is still at large as of this update (7/29/2018), since I haven't found anything online suggesting otherwise.
Of course, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
