In the early 1990s, Alem Messaye ran an unlicensed tow-truck business that would rip off desperate customers of hundreds of dollars. Alem then committed a spree of armed carjackings across the Los Angeles area. He was charged with three attempted murders, two of the victims were ATM customers. Alem was believed to have possibly fled to Toronto or New York City but was last seen in his native Ethiopia in 2000.

Thoughts? Alem Messaye appears to be an extremely dangerous career criminal who I imagine has not quit his life of crime in Ethiopia. The chances of capturing and extraditing Alem in Ethiopia are very low but it's important to put his story out there in the remote chance that he goes back to the US.
