(Above photo credit: fbi.gov) American Greed: The Fugitives episode link: www.hulu.com/watch/392252#i0Case statistics as of July 21st, 2014 (based on FBI.Gov profile): Aliases: John Oliver, Craig J. Oliver, Mel Merlowe, Danny Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan Date(s) of Birth Used: February 14, 1953 Place of Birth: Washington, D.C. Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 pounds NCIC: W178502753 Occupation: Home Improvement Sales, Construction, Interior Decorating, Remodeling Hair: Brown/Gray (Balding) Eyes: Blue Sex: Male Race: White Nationality: American Scars and Marks: Oliver has a scar on his right ankle. Remarks: Oliver is believed to be in Arizona or possibly San Diego, California. He was last seen driving a green 1998 Chevy Tahoe with an Arizona Tag AAX-6801. Who to call if you've seen him: Local FBI Field Office or Embassy or submit a tip to tips.fbi.govFBI agents out of Washington D.C. are searching for white collar fugitive Craig Oliver. He is on the run with his wife Jennifer whom the FBI says is not a fugitive from the law. Craig was aired four times on AMW between 2007 and 2010. Oliver was originally convicted in 1995 on a securities fraud charge in Arlington County, Virginia and had a record dating back to the 80s. That didn't convince him to quit defrauding innocent people. Craig started up a construction company called Dominion Building and took photos from other companies in order to make his business appear legit. The problem was that the business was notorious for accepting payments from customers without doing any work. When workers actually started working on homes, they tended to not finish certain projects. Craig's business was accused of defrauding 68 homeowners of more than $2.5 million. One of Craig's victims was an FBI agent named Lisa Hill. Thanks to her work, the FBI was able to charge Oliver with mail fraud. However, Oliver violated his bond release conditions and fled Virginia in November of 2005 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was sentenced in absentia to 20 years in a Federal prison. After his second profile on AMW, tipsters placed him in Phoenix, Arizona where he was working in home remodeling. Thoughts? One of the articles I read mentioned that Oliver may travel to Mexico. Considering he was last seen in Arizona, that would make alot of sense. Eventually I feel he may have considered it too risky to stay in the US and work in the home renovation business. If he doesn't still have the $2.5 million, he probably has access to cash or other assets elsewhere. My best guess is that he fled to Mexico after the 2008 AMW profile, retired from construction, invested his money and is living in a resort community in Mexico or a similar nation. That would make alot of sense. www.fbi.gov/wanted/wcc/craig-john-oliverww2.fairfaxtimes.com/cms/archivestory.php?id=228374Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

He picked the WRONG woman to scam when he met Lisa Hill, lol. Granted, he still hasn't been brought to justice, but if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't have to look over his shoulder. I can definitely see him going to Mexico. Find a bit unique both the Hallahans and Oliver were AMW con artists that fled to Arizona. A bit frustrating they just missed him, but hopefully his day will come.

Saw a social media post that says Oliver and his wife are now possibly on the North Carolina coast- although I can't verify the validity since it was a single user and not law enforcement.

Update: FOX 11) - The FBI’s Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles Field Offices are seeking assistance from the public in learning the whereabouts of a fugitive who is believed to have been living in the Los Angeles area for some time and was last seen today. The suspect, Craig John Oliver, has remained a fugitive for more than a decade after he was convicted in 2005 of defrauding dozens of homeowners of more than $2.5 million. In 2006, Oliver was sentenced in absentia to twenty years in federal prison after he violated the conditions of his bond and failed to appear in court. On Sunday evening, Oliver was featured on the CNBC series, American Greed, as a result of a recent effort by investigators to renew interest and generate leads in the case. Following the publicity, agents in Washington, D.C. received tips suggesting that Oliver and his wife, Jennifer Oliver, were living and conducting business in the Los Angeles area. Agents in Los Angeles were notified and followed up with the information provided. When agents went to a business location that had been provided, they were advised that the couple dropped by earlier today to pick up a check and mentioned they were leaving town. Investigators believe that Oliver was alerted to the recent publicity and fled once again. As a result of investigative developments, agents believe Oliver has been using aliases, including the name “Leigh Owsley” and that his wife is using the alias “Tara Jean.” Oliver and his wife, who has not been charged at this time, are known to work in the field of home renovation, to include work as consultants for windows and doors. Investigators now have reason to believe Oliver was known to do consulting work in the cities of Culver City and Gardena, among others. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Craig John Oliver, aka, “Leigh Owsley,” or Jennifer Oliver, aka “Tara Jean,” is urged to contact their nearest FBI Office. In Los Angeles, the FBI may be reached 24 hours a day at 310 477-6565. www.foxla.com/news/local-news/206476166-story

Glad we finally have another sighting of Craig Oliver and that the FBI is still pursuing him. I would love to see a CAPTURED stamp on his FBI poster soon. Also the recent photos work on my Google Chrome browser.

Also the recent photos work on my Google Chrome browser. They weren't working on one of my browsers but were on Google Chrome. Thankfully I think Google Chrome is more popular I think Hopefully this helps lead to his capture. With the near misses in Arizona and now L.A. (so far), he's become the William Greer of fraud cases.

Since this guy has been making a big fuss on my twitter feed I decided to post on this thread to say I'm glad they have a sighting of him after 10 years.
Look national television is a good way to bring these cases to the attention of the public to shake these fugitives to their core.
Now as to where Craig Oliver may be.... I don't think he went far, he's probably in San Diego or Northern California or Oregon, most likely the latter because it's kinda rural and being in a big city after having a confirmed sighting would lead someone to flee to a more quiet and rural area.
How him being on the North Carolina coast... is it a possibility? Yes it is it's rural for starters and nobody would suspect him in that part of the country as they'll be focused on the west coast, but anywhere on the east coast I think this guy can hide. Also he's probably going to keep a low profile from this point on, but on a good note let's hope this is the beginning of the end of Craig Oliver's decade on the run.

I don't know if Oliver had thought that far ahead as apparently he got spooked just yesterday, him and his wife are probably at a hotel or motel in Southern California somewhere, or at a friend or relative that knows their true identity if they have one, trying to figure out what to do next.
Might they take a chance and try to flee to Mexico since they're in L.A.? They might stand out being white, but they also probably come across as being unassuming and just regular American tourists on vacation.

I don't think they'd flee to Mexico because they'll be totally screwed if they even attempted to even cross. Also now that I've been told this all went down yesterday I doubt he's in Carolina now and that's why I said this could be the beginning of the end as he probably may not have thought that far ahead, so let's hope he's apprehended there

If Oliver has fake ID, he might be able to cross. Oliver and his wife don't "look" like criminals (and his wife technically isn't a criminal but a missing person), they look like a normal middle-late aged couple, so they wouldn't arouse suspicion. I hope it's the beginning of the end but they just slipped through before. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the new publicity gets them this time.

Personally I think the even the officials at the California-Mexico border might have been alerted about Craig Oliver which leads me to think they'd be finished at the border if they tried to cross.

Very good point. While I hate putting myself in the shoes of a fugitive(s), sometimes sleuthing by doing so can help develop decent theories. If I were the Olivers, I would be headed up north towards Canada rather than further South. Not Canada itself necessarily, but I'd blend in more up North. They could probably do well in the home renovation business in the Portland or Seattle suburbs.
