One of my either favorite or frustrating memories was recently (2012) when AMW made their 1200th milestone capture (Tommy Reardon) after a bit of a capture drought while I was on a flight to San Francisco for 5-6 hours for vacation. I remember Pakman on the same forums saying he missed capture #1100 while away for a weekend in college (or something like that, he'd know better than me ) So I don't know about during work but I do know based on my history these captures will happen a lot when you least expect it!

Thought this was funny. My mother is a huge AMW fan. I grew up sometimes watching the show with her. (My dad too on very, very rare occasions). But the one thing that would drive me crazy is she had a terrible short term memory so despite watching the show every week every time I told her about a fugitive the captured she couldn't recall him/her and I always made fun of her for that. She plans on watching The Hunt as well. I recently talked to her and told her about how The Hunt will show only one or two fugitives and I was surprised when she told me she liked the idea. When I asked her why she said "now if you tell me they captured someone, I'll have a better chance of remembering who they were."

He recalls some of the main fugitive cases (I'm kinda curious what his reaction will be if Greisy Valencia or Robert Fisher ever get captured), but not the names as much without being reminded.

Something that has been on my mind lately is how tough it can be to solve unsolved murders and other types of crimes. I mention this after looking through the amw.com archives in the unsolved listing and seeing countless unsolved cases. My next case to post is of a non-amw unsolved murder that I found from website browsing and I want to add some more cases to the non-amw unsolved crimes section over time in the future, even though it's going to be a pain to get an arrest in the majority of them.

My parents would quite frequently watch AMW with me, and both of them would be familiar with the fugitives and missing persons that were profiled. In fact, my mom was the one who broke the news to me that Jesse James Hollywood was captured. I still remember that day vividly - I was a sophomore in high school and after I got in the car, Mom turned to me and said, "They caught Jesse James Hollywood!" Yeah, I was pretty excited

Funny you should say that! My dad was the one who told me about Peter Braunstein! The case was big news in New York. I came in the kitchen and he told me he overheard on the radio and it was the result of someone who recognized him from America's Most Wanted so I was double excited! It was cool to hear from him since my dad as I said never really cared for AMW . I guess it just wasn't his cup of tea. It would be funny/awkward since sometimes he'd be in the living room reading a book while me and my mom would have our eyes glued to the tv. Occasionally a story would pique his interest. For example when the trial/final justice segment of a capture he came on he found those interesting. He actually overheard and came in the living room once to learn the Margaret Rudin verdict and THAT was a highly dramatic trial that even got him interested.

Wish I had time. Don't go the movies as often especially in the summer. Blockbuster season is unfortunately when at work I'm at my busiest. I usually am into comic book movies and this year saw Captain America: The Winter Solider (Awesome and imo one of the best Marvel movies of all-time), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (extremely disappointed), and the new X-Men which I begrudgingly have to admit was pretty good since I normally am not the biggest Bryan Singer fan. Dawn of the Planet Apes is on my radar but if I get a chance I want to see Guardians Of The Galaxy as well!

unsolved.com/While I was researching the Marlene Santana case, I noticed that the Unsolved Mysteries website has gone through a revamp and is being run even though UM episode are not in production right now. New cases are even on the site! This gives me hope that one day, someone will start up an official website with unresolved AMW cases as well.

Hey we might not be "official" but we're slowly but surely adding amw.com's old cases, full and short profiles alike! I agree it's a shame the AMW website can't be updated even off air-though. MILLIONS of people visited that site and fugitives would still be getting caught if AMW existed as a website even if it remained no longer a tv show. I can see a day where Unsolved Mysteries comes back, AMW comes back, and the Connected To The Case guys get on tv as well. Counting The Hunt, We'd go from one to four shows that show unresolved crime cases!

The only issues with "AMW" coming back are does FOX still own the show rights, and would it follow the same format as the old AMW?

I think if the show comes back whatever network that airs it would have to pay Fox. But seeing the success of The Hunt so far might inspire Fox to bring it back on their own network, or FX, or as much as I hate the thought but Fox News Channel. (I'd still watch AMW on it though). Who knows what they'd do with the format. I am loving The Hunt so far. I'm going to be honest- I now think it's an upgrade over AMW. But I would still welcome AMW back with open arms as well- as two fugitive chasing shows are better than just one.

Even though I've never seen the show, I've added six cases from American Greed: The Fugitives to my word processor document listing of cases that I can post about. I'm going through the other mentioned shows in the subforum descriptions for cases that would qualify to be posted there.

That is a great idea. I have always been meaning to add American Greed cases but have been way too busy with work and adding short still-active AMW cases and The Hunt cases. They had always been on the back burner since although this is now a tv-themed forum, let's face it, AMW and The Hunt are still the main priorities. So any additional help I can get from other tv shows are great! In addition to AG and Unsolved Mysteries, I believe some Cold Justice cases are still unresolved for the Unsolved forum. And as far as missing persons, "Disappeared" and "Last Seen Alive" on the ID channel still have active cases as well. If anyone wants to add these cases it would be appreciated since I have been too busy to focus beyond AMW/The Hunt for the past few months.
