On April 19, 1994, 16-year old Antonio Sanchez was with friends at an apartment complex in Portland, Oregon, trying to sell them a gun. No one was interested at first but Benito Ortiz took the gun, spun the cylinder, put it to his head and pulled the trigger, it did not fire. Then he allegedly put the gun at Antonio's head, pulled the trigger and a shot was fired, killing Antonio. The people fled the apartment and a warrant was issued for Benito Ortiz's arrest for manslaughter.
Based on investigating agencies, it is advised to contact the Multnomah County Sheriff's Cold Case Team at 503-251-2404 if you have any information on Benito Ortiz's whereabouts.

Thoughts? Every so often I see a fugitive case listed on a police department's unsolved murders/cold cases section where the majority of the cases listed have no suspect. Unfortunately there's no photo currently available for Benito Ortiz. I don't know if one just doesn't exist or if they forgot to post that photo. I did check the Multnomah County warrants search under the last name "Ortiz" and I did see an active warrant for a "Benito Ortiz-Martinez", which could be the same fugitive. He's most likely still at large as of this posting date (5/4/2018) since he's still mentioned on the unsolved murders page as "never being located".
