Unfortunately I don't think Sawhill can be charged with manslaughter since his victim (Katie? I apologize for blanking out on her name) killed herself after the fact and after he didn't show up for trial. There is no doubt in my mind she killed herself because of what he did to her, but unfortunately the technicalities of the law would imo prevent a manslaughter case.

Charging him with manslaughter would be quite a stretch. However, I'm certain the Judge would take into account her death in sentencing Sawhill. Basically, her death is too remote from the incident to prove causation.

Sawhill is obviously still at large as of this update (7/14/2018) since he is still on the FBI website and this is a high-profile case, but just to cover all bases just in case, wanted to provide an additional link to track his fugitive status. A search of Missouri's online criminal court records still shows the state charges against Sawhill as "not disposed" as of 7/14/2018. I don't know why, but the FBI removed Sawhill from their website Missouri's court records database still shows Sawhill's case as "not disposed". The UFAP case was not found in PACER which means that it is not public. I can only assume that the FBI removed Sawhill from their website due to a lack of investigative leads. |

Also Sawhill had been on the FBI’s Website since 2010 or 2011, so I understand why the FBI chose to remove him from their site. Also Sawhill was born in the early 1950s which puts him in his early 70s now.

I never understood considering how high-profile a case this was how there never seemed to be any talk of any legitimate sightings. I'd say maybe he fled the country but Rick McLean laid low in South Carolina for a while.
The problem with catching child molestation fugitives, is that while they are unfortunately always potentially going to commit more child sex crimes, they usually don't stand out otherwise and are unlikely to commit other violent crimes that would put them in the spotlight. They give off the appearance of just your average friendly neighbor next door, able to mask their evil, otherwise.

Has anyone else noticed that this is the second major crimes against children fugitive this year the first being elby hars let's hope one day they'll be in custody or either we find out they died but till that happens we will have to wait

I can't find the UFAP warrant in PACER but for the most part the fugitives lately just seem to be removed to make room for newer fugitives, not because they're not wanted by them anymore.
