In recent years, authorities in three states have new leads on an unidentified cold case serial killer. AMW aired this case once in 2011.
On Feb 21, 1987, a man sexually assaulted and shot a woman named Vicki Heath, then dumped her body in a dumpster at a Super 8 Motel off Interstate 65 in Hardin County, Kentucky. More than two decades later, local authorities entered DNA evidence into the national database and linked Vicki's murder with several unsolved crimes. On Mar 3, 1989, two women working the early morning shift at separate hotels in Merrillville and Remington, Indiana were robbed, raped and shot to death. In 1990, a woman working the night shift at a Columbus, Indiana hotel off Interstate 65 was raped and stabbed but she escaped by running off. In 1991, a woman in Minnesota was sexually assaulted and stabbed.
The surviving victims gave a similar description of their attacker. He's a white male with bright green eyes, the right eye was lazy. At the time he was in his 40's, had salt and pepper coloured hair and was 6ft tall. All the crimes occurred near Interstate 65 except the last crime which oddly enough occurred all the way in Minnesota. It's believed that he was either a truck driver or a travelling salesman however to me he probably doesn't look like a travelling salesman and looks more like a truck driver. He may have had a change of his route that would have included Minnesota if he is a trucker.
