John Walsh has finally acknowledge's Barnard's capture on his Facebook page. He didn't say it was a result of The Hunt, just "another fugitive from The Hunt has been captured in Brazil!" but still cool.

Ok here is the Marshals statement, and the latter part: "The efforts of the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Department of Justice, Office of International Affairs, the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, Interpol Washington, and U.S. Marshals Service all contributed to the successful arrest of Barnard." So I think we can officially say this was NOT a direct result of The Hunt with John Walsh in our opinion since they weren't mentioned, but still an amazing capture! www.usmarshals.gov/investigations/most_wanted/barnard/barnard-cap.htm

Barnard's capture link is already on The Hunt's website (it was also already on CNN's main page but it's encouraging The Hunt page has linked to it as well). And the US Marshals have edited to say he was captured. I am assuming there will be a press conference tomorrow, at least hopefully there will be. Also, rather odd John Walsh hasn't said anything yet either. Maybe he's waiting for tomorrow as well! Right now it looks it's the result of good investigative work by the US Marshals, but we'll wait and see what the official reason is hopefully coming soon. www.cnn.com/2015/03/01/us/victor-barnard-brazil-caught/www.usmarshals.gov/investigations/most_wanted/barnard/barnard.htm[/qI glad that pig is off the streets, I hoped he's rot in prison where he belong

Ok they updated he was captured on the CNN re-run. No mention of Hunt tips but some new information in that authorities believe Barnard was in a few South American countries besides Brazil during his time on the run. Also, the woman he was with was in the River Road Fellowship group and said to be Barnard's "favorite one."

Victor Barnard reportedly tried to kill himself while in jail in Brazil. Would have been something for The Hunt to have yet another dead fugitive from season 1 where even after a capture they die. But he wasn't successful. (At least it seems he survived his attempt for the moment.) Wouldn't have felt bad if he did die, but I know his alleged victims want him alive to confront him when he finally gets to a Pine County courtroom. bringmethenews.com/2015/11/20/brazilian-media-accused-mn-cult-leader-attempted-suicide-in-jail/

Ok read another article and despite this good news annoyed by this aspect: "Brazilian media are reporting that one of the conditions for extradition is that Barnard does not face more than 30 years in prison, and that his time already spent in Brazil be deducted from his sentence. The ruling from Brazil's high court, which includes these conditions, cannot be appealed." www.fox9.com/news/113999647-storyOK, I'm glad they're sending him back unlike other fugitives but I'm tired of other countries dictating to us what we can sentence OUR fugitives. I wonder how Brazil would feel if the roles were reversed. I'm glad he'll likely have at least two decades of rotting in a prison cell anyway but he should be in jail for the rest of his life if convicted. In any case, I'm still glad he'll be sent back and Lindsay and everyone else has a chance to look him in the eye and say what he did to them.

P.S. There's rumors Barnard may not have attempted suicide after all and may have in fact been assaulted by other inmates. (Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.) www.fox9.com/news/161584978-story

A judge has set bail at 1.5 million dollars for Barnard. The DA had argued for 7 million. I can't believe this. Barnard still has plenty of followers who could gather money for him. I don't care if he's placed on GPS those things are useless. I guess we just have to hold our breath and hope Barnard doesn't get released and then flees. One interesting note though, we now have a new picture of Barnard after just a year and a half in a Brazilian prison: www.twincities.com/2016/06/20/minnesota-maidens-cult-leader-victor-barnard-sexual-abuse-bail/
