Authorities in San Francisco are searching for killer of Evelyn Hernandez, and the whereabouts of her five-year old son Alexis. AMW aired the case in 2003.
Evelyn and her son Alexis lived together, she was one week away from her due date with her second child. They were last heard from on May 1, 2002, when Evelyn took Alexis to a Day Care and to use an ATM. Both of their passports were found in their home. In July 2002, a pair of decomposing legs and a torso, clad in a maternity blouse were found near the San Francisco bridge. DNA tests confirmed that the remains were of Evelyn, however the rest of Evelyn's body, her fetus and Alexis were never recovered.
The father of Evelyn's unborn son was 36-year old Herman Aguilera, a married airline mechanic. He and Evelyn were dating when she became pregnant and that's when she learned that he was married. He was reportedly unhappy with the pregnancy. Herman has never been ruled out in the case but is not been called a serious suspect either.
In 2003, some had speculated that the Evelyn's case was related to that of Laci Peterson because of similarities in the murders and the spots were the bodies were recovered. However authorities have since said that Scott Peterson is not connected to the Evelyn Hernandez case.

Thoughts? A lot of people were outraged because of how little attention Evelyn's murder got in the media in comparison to Laci Peterson's murder, despite that Evelyn was killed before Laci. Thankfully AMW stepped up and agreed to give this case some airtime. Anyway, depending on where Evelyn's remains were dumped, the rest of the remains could have washed out to sea sadly, and I feel that Alexis was murdered along with his mother.
