In October, 2001, Mustapha "Moe" aka "Crazy Moe" Atat was allegedly involved in an illegal street race that resulted in the death of a mother of two children. He was charged with second degree murder and AMW later revealed on the show Atat was spotted giving interviews on tv and was racing- in the United Arab Emirates- which does not have an extradition treaty with the US. So while one victim's family was awaiting a change at justice, Atat was smiling and free, living and racing in plain sight. Well, thanks to a fan from my Facebook group, I've learned of a rather fascinating update on Mo Atat. The league he was racing in got a lot of negative flack on message boards and in general and Atat was asked to step down as a driver. I hope one day Atat has a conscience and goes back to the US and turns himself in to face the music, although that is probably unlikely. The article states he likely made money through drugs. But at the very least Atat has temproarily lost the one thing he loves in racing. www.dragzine.com/news/the-difficult-case-of-moe-atat-al-anabi-adrl/UPDATE: Shortly after the article was published, Atat was racing once again in Qatar. Admin Note #1: Although Atat is believed to be in the United Arab Emirates where there is no extradition treaty, if you believe you have any information that may help anyway our advice would be to contact your local or international police or Crime Stoppers line.

To be honest, I can still picture him doing underground racing where he's at. Sadly, that could possibly put more people at risk.

That is a great point. While I understand the article's "defense" of Atat in that he obviously did not set out to kill the woman and was not in the car that struck her, he was still allegedly a negligent participant and needs to stand trial for his role. It is a huge concern if he's still underground street racing and didn't learn his lesson the first time.

Atat is apparently racing again in Qatar: qrczone.com/media/in-the-news/page/2/www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=559862I know this sounds terrible of me to say but there really doesn't seem to be anything that can be done. This isn't a case where we don't know where a fugitive is and we wonder where they are. Even fugitives like Victor Gerena are possibly in Cuba, a country where they'd not be extradited, but they still seem to be laying low. Atat is out in the open, racing all over the Gulf, but is untouchable. fastdoorslammers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5614' The only thing we can hope for really is Atat has a conscience and voluntarily returns to the U.S., either to finally accept responsibility for his role in the deadly street race and/or to tell his side of the story and defend himself in court to get the controversy behind him. The controversy has likely died down with AMW having not aired him since 2010, but I'm sure it will always be hanging over his head. Of course, the odds of any long-time fugitive surrendering, let alone someone voluntarily leaving a country where they're untouchable, are highly unlikely, but it's really all we can hope for at this point.

The only way I foresee the case of Crazy Mo getting closed is when Atat dies, which could take a few more decades. Getting convicted and sentenced in absentia is a non-issue to him, so he won't turn himself in.

Someone sent in the YouTube video of Atat being interviewed for Al Anabi Racing in Qatar. Not really much that can be done with that since he can't be extradited from the UAE, but for curiosity purposes for people at least, I figured I'd post the video. P.S. Thanks to the forum reader who sent it in. www.youtube.com/watch?v=botKAMdJnfA

I found a still active UFAP warrant for "Mustapha Atata" from Michigan issued in 2002 in PACER search.. Assuming it is the same man.
