PITTSBURGH —
Pittsburgh Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man in connection to the fatal shooting of three people on New Year's Eve in Homewood South.
Ronald Steave, 29, of Pittsburgh, is being charged with three counts of criminal homicide and possession.
Pittsburgh police responded to reports of shots fired on Dec. 31 at the 7500 block of Hamilton Avenue around 4 a.m.
Officers on scene found a woman who had been shot in the head. While searching the house, SWAT officers found two other victims. Medics pronounced all three dead on scene.
Nandi Fitzgerald, 28, Tatiana Hill, 28 and Denzel Nolan, 12, were identified as the victims.
Anyone with information regarding Ronald Steaves' whereabouts is asked to immediately call 9-1-1 or Police Headquarters at (412) 323-7800.
Investigators say cameras captured a dark-colored Nissan leaving the scene the night of the shooting and traced it back to Steave, according to a criminal complaint.
Police say they found bullet casings in the car that matched the murder weapon, along with Steave's fingerprints.
In addition, police say Steave's 4-year-old son died of a gunshot wound back in November 2021.
A preliminary investigation showed the boy had accidentally shot himself.
According to police paperwork, the child, Ronald Steave Jr., was the son of Steave and victim Nandi Fitzgerald.
Neighbors and community leaders, including Mayor-elect Ed Gainey gathered on Hamilton Avenue and Braddock Avenue on the same day of the shooting to show their support for the victims' families.
"We can’t go into the new year showing this is what we're about. This is not us. We are a community of love," event organizer Sheldon Oliver said during the Dec. 31 rally.
GoFundMe pages have been set up to raise money for the families of the victims.

Thoughts? As of this posting date (January 10th, 2022), a search of Pennsylvania's online criminal court records show still no arrest date and/or court events since criminal charges against Steave were filed on January 6th, 2022. This is a breaking news case so I will continue to monitor for updates.
