From nbc15.com:
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Two suspects who are accused in the death of their infant reportedly did not appear for their court dates and the Madison Police Dept. is asking for help tracking them down.
Arkeem Ashley, 26, is accused of first-degree reckless homicide in the death of the eight-week-old boy, who died in May 2020. The Dane Co. Medical Examiner’s Office determined the child died from homicide by blunt force injuries to the head.
The infant’s mother, Esthefania Martinez, discovered the baby in his bassinet not breathing, MPD reported at the time. The 22-year-old Martinez was charged with neglecting a child.
They had both been released on $500 signature bonds.
Ashley and Martinez were both due in court in June 2021 for status conference hearings and bench warrants were issued that day. Madison police put out the call for information on their whereabouts on Monday, noting that they have ties in other states.
Since missing his court date, Ashley has been charged with repeated sexual assault of the same child, with at least three violations of first-degree sexual assault. That charge was filed in March of this year.
Madison Police Dept. spokesperson Stephanie Fryer told NBC15 News that, ever since the suspects missed their court dates, MPD detectives have been in communication with family members, friends, and associates of the suspects. MPD also enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force to follow up on leads both within Wisconsin and outside state borders.”
The Madison Police Department has never stopped actively searching for Ashley or Martinez and issued the most recent press release with hopes of generating fresh information that could lead to their arrest,” she said in a statement.
The statement noted that the sexual assault charge resulted from a separate investigation and indicated the incidents happened several years ago.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014. Tips can be left anonymously as well via p3tips.com.

Thoughts? As of this posting date (April 20th, 2022), the charges against Ashley and Martinez are still listed as "filed only- arrest warrant issued. Not only is what's alleged sickening (what kind of sick f*** allegedly kills one of his kids and then molests the other one), but 500 dollar bond? Why didn't they just ask them for pocket change because it would have been the same thing.
