It's been talked about but it looks like Facebook has finally started the process of issuing amber alerts of missing children in conjunction with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The alerts will be sent to targeted search areas after a child has been abducted. Obviously, John Walsh is thrilled.
I think this is a great idea. I also think this is a much more effective tool than many other methods that gets the word out quickly- and to areas where people are most likely to make a sighting. Nice to see this plan finally come into fruition.
