So my dad was actually on AMW years ago in Greenbrier County, WV. There was a man who was hiding in the back of his Chevy S10 under a very heavy work coat. I talked to my dad and he lost the copy of the show that he had on DVD and I'm trying to get more information on this case. My dad seems to believe that the fugitives name was Kyle Aaron Dobshinski(sp). I can provide more details about the capture of this fugitive if you would like! He seems to think this was around 1997 but I think it was after that. I know that you guys are awesome and will probably have this info relatively quickly. I was still in elementary school when this happened and a lot of times people don't believe me when I tell them my dad was on the show! It used to be much easier to make believers out of them when we actually had a copy of the DVD. Thank you for any help that you can provide!

Hi do you have information on what the fugitive was wanted for? Was he captured hiding in a Chevy or was that what he has hiding in?

I don't remember what he was wanted for, but I believe he was from California. He was hiding in the back of my dad's truck. When it happened I was like "COOL, my dad is on TV!" But now, looking back it's scary because it's hard to tell what his motives were (thank God we didn't find out).

Unfortunately this doesn't ring a bell to me but hopefully it does for someone else.

No, he wasn't captured in the back of the truck that's just where he was hiding. Let me give some of the details that I remember.
My dad was working at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. His friend was in the parking lot and saw my dad's heavy work coat in the back of his truck moving around and thought it may have been a raccoon or a different animal. He went inside and told my dad what he saw and he thought it was a joke so he went outside to see what was going on. When he opened his camper shell and grabbed the coat, he found the fugitive hiding under it. My dad then asked him, "What are you doing in my truck?" to which the fugitive responded "Hiding from the police." My dad then told him (and it was aired again on TV), "Not in the back of my truck you're not!" Anyways, the fugitive then ran away from my dad and his truck and while doing so ran into the pole of a stop sign. My dad said he hit it so hard it knocked is shoes off (guess they weren't tied). That's pretty much my dad's involvement short of calling the police. He said that the guy ran by a Go-Mart gas station and a State Trooper tried to shoot the guy through his windshield of his cruiser with a .357 and eventually he was caught I believe by a K-9 unit. I remember seeing him on the show and he was all cut up especially his face from trying to run through a briar patch. Basically, that's all the info I have.
***EDIT***
I spoke to my dad earlier and I completely forgot about this. So he wasn't caught by a K9. He was caught because of a cat. Apparently he ran down to the local Ford dealer and was under a truck. He climbed up on top of the driveshaft and was hiding from the police. When they made there way down there a cat was sitting and looking at a truck. Once they saw it they decided to see what the cat was looking at and found him.

Ah cool, still doesn't ring a bell to me even though I started watching AMW regularly in 95/96-ish, but hopefully someone here will remember! Cool story nevertheless!

The fugitive - Kyle Dobschensky - was profiled twice in January 1999, according to the AMW Archives. That's all the information I have for now but I'll see if I can find anything else later. I unfortunately do not have either of the episodes he was featured on.
