Octavio Montano Islas is wanted for the vehicular homicides of 42-year old Jose Palacios Gonzales and 3-year old Samantha Palacios. Octavio was driving a pickup truck when he allegedly crashed into an apartment building. Jose and Samantha, who were both sleeping were killed. Octavio fled the scene and has been a fugitive ever since.
A year after the murders, Jose's wife and Samantha's mother appeared in a video produced by the Long Beach Police Department. She pleads for justice in this case and the Long Beach police chief stated that his officers will not stop looking for Octavio.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Long Beach Police Department at 562-570-7355 if you have any information on Octavio Montano Islas's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, September 5, 2023, Octavio's gross vehicular manslaughter case (Charge 191.5) is showing as "case pending" in Los Angeles County's court records database. There have been no case events since a warrant was issued in March of 2022. Additional articles mention that Octavio left a bar before the crash so this is a drunk driving case.
I do appreciate the efforts by the Long Beach Police Department to make sure that Octavio is arrested. I really want the Palacios family to get the justice and answers that they deserve.
Finally, Los Angeles County's court records database also lists two additional defendants in this case. They were charged and convicted of California Penal Code 32 which is basically harboring and aiding a fugitive.
