Valentin Ojeda Rodriguez is wanted for the homicides of Albert Aguilar and Jesus Santibanes. Albert and Jesus were shot to death while in a parked car and a third victim was wounded. Newspapers.com archives said the weapon used was either a high-powered rifle or a machine gun. Valentin remains a fugitive to this day.

Thoughts? As of today, March 2, 2024, Valentin has a warrant flag in Hidalgo County's jail records. This is in relation to arrests in 1994 and 1995. It doesn't say what the warrant is for, but I believe it to be for the capital murder charge since he has never been arrested for that charge. I checked PACER and did not see a UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) case for Valentin.
If Valentin's alleged weapon of choice was a machine gun, then it is really concerning as to the types of people who would have access to that kind of weapon. This crime shows Valentin's alleged propensity for violence and why he still needs to be arrested after 25 years on the run. It should be noted that a fugitive on the archived Hidalgo County Most Wanted list named Rigoberto Resendiz was arrested last year. Rigoberto was wanted for a 2000 homicide case and was caught after trying to return to the US. This gives me hope that Valentin will also be apprehended one day.
I hope that the families of Albert and Jesus will get justice and accountability.
