Police on Tuesday released the name and photo of a person wanted in connection with the Oct. 22 death of Amanda Servedio, the Astoria woman killed on her bicycle by a driver fleeing police.
The wanted man is Bekim Fiseku, 53.
Police did not specify whether Fiseku was the driver or what his role in the case might be. The NYPD press office did not immediately respond when asked about that. The department did not say where Fiseku lives, either.
Servedio, 36, was killed late that night as she rode her bike at the corner of 37th Avenue and 34th Street. She was an accountant who came to Queens from Arkansas, who loved music, dogs, Ohio State University football and cycling around her adopted city.
The crash occurred during a police chase. The driver who hit Servedio, along with two accomplices, was racing through the streets in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck after police interrupted a burglary in progress on 39th Avenue near Crescent Street in Long Island City at about 11 p.m.
Emergency Medical Services transported her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she was pronounced dead. The truck was recovered unoccupied in the vicinity of Newtown Road and 47th Street.
On Oct. 29, Servedio’s parents joined hundreds of supporters for a vigil and memorial bike ride starting at the corner where she lost her life.
Anyone with information about Fiseku or the case may call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477), or, for Spanish, 1 (888) 57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577, or by going to @nypdtips on X. All tips are strictly confidential.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Fiseku is still at large as of today’s posting date (November 22nd, 2024), since most articles are from a day or so ago with no updates about a capture that I can find online since. However, if that status has changed and/or changes in the future, anyone is more than welcome to let us know if we don’t find out first.
