Richmond County, Georgia authorities have been attempting to figure out the murder mystery of a beloved 18-year old girl named Natalie Clark for over 11 years. I don't know if the case was ever on AMW, but it was on AMW radio and their website. Below is the archive description of the case:
A Joyful Life Comes To A Violent End
According to friends and family Natalie Clark was full of joy. She lived life consistent with her favorite quote: "Love like your heart's never been broken, work like you don't need the money and dance like nobody's watching." Her friends say she was known for making people smile. She was very active in church. She was a freshman at Augusta University and had just gotten a job working at a local restaurant. She had dreams of becoming an attorney and spending her life working in the field of criminal justice. But Natalie was robbed of those dreams. Now police are trying to find justice for her.
The Mystery Of Natalie's Last Night
On Friday, October 18, 2003 Natalie began her new job at a local restaurant. She only had to report to work for a few hours to complete her orientation. With her parents in Atlanta for the weekend, she was apprehensive about staying at home alone. She phoned her mother after leaving work and told her she was going home to take a nap and then head to a friend's house for the evening.
But before Natalie made it home for that nap, she ventured to a neighboring county in search of her ex-boyfriend. They had spoken earlier and he agreed to meet Natalie -- although he later told police he never had any intention of showing up. He told police he only agreed to meet her to appease her. After her ex-boyfriend was a no show, Natalie headed back home. According to police, she chatted on the phone and played on the computer until around 5:30 that morning. Police are trying to piece together what happened in the next few hours.
Natalie's Body Is Discovered
The following morning, a neighbor noticed that a door was open at the Clark home. She phoned Natalie's stepbrother. He went to check, and discovered Natlie's body outside the house. According to an autopsy, Natalie had been suffocated. Despite numerous interviews and the many leads they've followed, police have been unable to identify a suspect.
Thoughts? There were articles about the 10 year anniversary back in 2013, but sadly no new information about this case it seems.
As for the case, let me just say although I assume the ex-boyfriend is not a suspect, if he was his DNA would have been found at the scene, he was still a jerk. He couldn't have just said he didn't want to meet her? Was leading her on any better since she still was going to find out he didn't want to see her? Way to waste her time. I know he must feel guilty and hopefully isn't a jerk anymore, but it still annoyed me to see that.
Unfortunately, I am rather baffled myself.
But hopefully somewhere out there knows something so....
