Osman Garcia was aired on the January 27th, 2007 episode of America's Most Wanted. Below is the AMW archive description of his alleged crime:
Ex-Soldier Faces A Different Kind Of War
On Jan. 22, 2005 Benjamin Ray Neal Jr. and a friend decided to go out for a night of fun in Dallas, Texas -- but the evening became memorable for all the wrong reasons.
The pair started off at a local pool hall. After shooting a few rounds, the night was still young so the friends headed to a convenience store to get something to drink.
Benjamin stepped out of the car and left his friend in the passenger seat. But what happened next was so terrifying, Benjamin's friend asked AMW to conceal her identity. The woman went to the trunk of the car to get a bag, and then got back in the passenger seat. But soon after, a man allegedly approached the car window with a gun and threatened her, asking her to give him the bag.
When Benjamin noticed what was happening, he put his life on the line. The Desert Storm veteran was no stranger to conflict. Cops say Benjamin and the gunman started wrestling, and then the stranger shot and killed him.
Cops Search For Suspect
Immediately after Benjamin's death, the Dallas Police Deparment and the U.S. Marshals Service collaborated to find his killer.
With the help of a confidential informant, police say they quickly learned that Osman Garcia was the man who'd pulled the trigger and charged him with murder. Now, cops want to put Garcia where they say he belongs -- behind bars.
Police say Garcia has ties to Mexico, but believe he could still be living and working in Texas. Garcia has experience in woodworking and carpentry and could be working in one of those trades. Investiagators also say they doubt that Garcia is keeping a low profile, and believe he probably frequents bars and clubs.
Thoughts? Usually murders of military veterans are high-profile on AMW and I am a bit surprised that at least in my opinion this case didn't get as much attention as others. And this is perhaps even worse than many cases since all Benjamin was trying to do was the right thing. I am also rather surprised Osman has stayed under the radar this long, since keeping a low profile was said to not be in his DNA.

UPDATE: I could find nothing new online the past few years besides what is in the AMW archives. As far as I can tell, Garcia is still at large as of this update (7/21/2018). However, as always, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are more than welcome to let us know.
