Hello and thank you for viewing amwfans.com. A lot of times people want to send us information on a case- perhaps a new internet article on a fugitive, informing us of a capture and/or resolution in a case (we would still need proof and unfortunately can't take your word for it even if you're telling us the truth), or other reasons. Or perhaps you would like to request a case for us to profile. You can now do that using our secure e-mail form. First, a few bits of advice.
1. If you want to comment physically on the site itself, you still need to register. Sending us an e-mail comment on a case like "I hope that scumbag gets caught" would just be sent to us as opposed to the board So register at the following link : login.proboards.com/register/3566623
2. We are not a tip agency. We are a discussion site and an UNOFFICIAL fan site for true crime shows and true crime national media entitites- with a main focus on fugitive cases and this contact form is mainly for anyone with news updates. (UNOFFICIAL means we are only a fan page and not the actual show). While if someone sends us an e-mail with an unsolicited tip that reads "John Smith is hiding out on 255th Street in Scottsdale, Arizona" we're not going to ignore it, it is just our advice and we prefer that you contact the police or Crime Stoppers or television crime show lines/websites we provide instead. This is also for the best so it would not be secondhand information.
It is also our advice to double check if a fugitive is still at large or another type of crime case is still current with the appropriate agency as sometimes cases are resolved without our being alerted.
P.S. The police or Crime Stoppers or television show crime lines etc that we mention either in our admin notes or highlighted in bold in profiles and/or articles... are our RECOMMENDATIONS based on who articles say to contact, websites/tv shows/podcasts etc.. profiling the case, or location of where the fugitive is wanted, where the crime took place and/or where someone became missing. We think most Crime Stoppers and other agencies do amazing jobs for the most part but we are not affiliated with them and take no responsibility if you feel they didn't handle your tip properly, ignored your tip, didn't give you reward money etc... (this is just in case a situation like that unfortunately happens to you, for the most part Crime Stoppers or other types of places to call/submit tips in our opinion seem to do amazing and often unappreciated work).
P.P.S. please call 911 if it is an urgent matter.
3. Please remember to refer the case you have a news update on. Too many times we get messages saying "he was captured, check the warrants" or "she was recovered alive, google her name and you'll find out" and we have no idea what case is being referred to. We appreciate wanting to let us know and realize you're doing us a favor, but unfortunately the contact form is not case specific.
Also, please note although we do our best to update our site and are usually very good at it, sometimes because there are so many stories in the news/crime cycles we visit and not every story always appears quickly, we might miss a resolution on a case despite our best efforts. It's not a matter of asking readers to do our "job" for us but that it's completely impossible to get every update right away- sadly some solved cases have sat on our site as active for a year or longer because for whatever reason they didn't show up in our research and no one else told us they were resolved.
4. Once again we prefer you don't send us tips and this form is supposed to be for news updates. However, if for whatever reason you choose to email us anyway (perhaps you want to ask a question or verify a detail before calling Crime Stoppers), when contacting us through our website contact form, a VALID email address will now be required (unfortunately we had to change the rules thanks to spammers and trolls). If you do not want us sharing that e-mail with authorities and/or sharing with authorities but stressing to them you want communications with them to be private and anonymous please let us know. If it is ok to share your e-mail address but only with an anonymous agency like Crime Stoppers or anonymous tip app like P3 Tips please let us know. Once again your name is not required but a valid e-mail address that works is.
5. Please note we require some sort of official proof to declare a resolution in a case. This is not because we don't believe you, but because it is site policy. We have had times in the past where family members of fugitives falsely claim they've been captured to try to take heat off of them or sometimes someone is honestly mistaken and thinks a fugitive has been caught when they haven't been. A legitimate news article is the best thing to send us, but a link to a mugshot website or county inmate search feature where we'll find the suspect was booked into jail will do as well. We do not accept online obituaries as proof a fugitive is deceased as those can be easily faked.
If the update you are sending us is a missing child being located, as long as it is a relatively recent case, we will accept that child no longer being on the missingkids.org website as proof that they are no longer missing.
6. Depending on the message, if you seek our further response and/or if we think there is a need to reply or follow up, there is a high likelihood we will send you an encrypted e-mail reply through hushmail. You will be asked to enter a password or paraphrase to access our response. Please remember the password or passphrase you use just in case we communicate more than once. As long as we feel the message is normal and deserving of a reply (you don’t seem like a nut job who told us a fugitive is hiding in space after three drinks (even though we still prefer you send tips even crazy ones to our recommended places and not us) and/or some messages speak for themself and even if normal don’t seem to have a need to prompt a response), we will do our best to reply within 3 days. Although it has never happened before with normal messages deserving of reply, knock on wood, the site admin is the one who replies to your messages, so in the unlikely and still yet to happen event that you seek our response and don't get it within 3 days, there would probably be some sort of surprise business trip, unplanned vacation, (we will announce planned hiatuses), sickness in family etc... he will get back to you even if takes longer than expected (Sorry usually no need to worry just wanted to explain that we are very prompt and take getting back seriously and lack of response would only happen during unexpected events in life- covering all bases just in case!) Please also double check spam folders as that would be the only other reason for unanswered email!
Finally, here is the web address to contact us about a case:
