Evelyn C. Guzman is a fugitive listed in the FBI's Criminal Enterprise Investigations section of their website. She's been aired three times on America's Most Wanted. Below is the archvie description of the case:
Evidence Of A Conspiracy
FBI agents in Chicago spent months doing surveillance on a group of people they suspected were trafficking drugs. After all their hard work, they ended up with enough evidence to arrest 23 people from a conspiracy that had come to be known as the Pale Rider Fugitives.
When arrest warrants were issued in July 2005, with charges of distributing drugs, laundering money, and aiding and abetting, all but seven of the 23 fugitives who were eventually named were taken into custody.
One of the ones that got away was Evelyn Guzman.
Pale Riders Lose Their Stride
Agents spotted Guzman after they were informed of a cocaine sale by an informant inside the alleged Pale Rider drug ring. As authorities waited in hiding at the spot where the exchange was supposed to take place, Guzman showed up.
As they continued to watch and take photographs, drugs and cash changed hands, and a transaction was completed.
Somehow Guzman became aware that her picture had been taken and stayed below the radar. By the time evidence was gathered against everyone involved, Guzman had fled. She has not been seen since.
Thoughts? Interesting case, especially when you consider Evelyn Guzman may not even be her real name since she has no credit history. It seems they thought she was hiding in plain sight initially, but I take it she could have made it to Mexico by now.
