(Above photo credit: amw.com archives) Fugitive Profile as of February 3rd, 2018: (based on 2009 AMW archives, Dallas County online court records search) Full Name: Jesus Agustin Duran Date of Birth: 7/8/1953 Height: 5'7" Weight: 217 Lbs. Hair (Color, Description, Facial Hair): Duran's hair is greying. Eyes: Brown Other Possible Locations: TX, Mexico Who to call if you've seen him: Based on wanted location, our advice would be to contact North Texas Crime Stoppers. Information on how to call, text, or ways to submit a web tip to them can be found at the following link: www.ntcc.crimestoppersweb.com/Molesting Texas Teacher Vanishes After Release From PrisonJesus Duran attended college in Mexico, where he studied education; he aspired to become a teacher. After graduating, Duran took advantage of a program provided by his college which supplied successful students with jobs teaching in American schools. He was awarded a teaching position in Texas. Duran's tenure at the school was short-lived. According to cops, a substitute teacher who happened to be passing by Duran's classroom said Duran was inappropriately touching his female students. Authorities say many of his victims choose not to come forward -- but one did, and Duran was convicted of inappropriate contact with a minor. Upon his release after five years in prison, Duran failed to register as a sex offender and has since vanished. Police believe he may have returned to Mexico. Thoughts? The above was from the AMW archives. Duran was aired on the February 14th, 2009 episode of America's Most Wanted. web.archive.org/web/20091221003232/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/brief.cfm?id=63104#case Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I did search of Dallas County's online court records and found the case against Duran in there- court code F-0774039. The disposition shows NAOG which means non-adjucation of guilt. I looked it up and it just means a final ruling hasn't been made yet. The latest update I could find when entering the court code was a 2013 document which in summary stated that the state "prays" the defendant will appear to answer these charges. Since that is the last update and nothing since it would appear Duran is likely still at large as of this posting date (2/3/2018) based on that. Thankfully I learned Duran's middle name and date of birth thanks to the online court finding and added it to the fugitive profile statistics in the OP. www.dallascounty.org/services/record-search/

Want to thank our forum reader who sent a link to a story about a convicted child molester beaten to death in a California prison that looks a lot like Duran. It says his name is "Agustin" Duran (Jesus middle name) and age is similar to what the AMW fugitive would be. (65 while Duran would be 66) However, I honestly am not 100 percent sure and would like to know from other members of they think it is the same guy or not. Honestly, I'm leaning it towards it not being him because one article says he was convicted of charges in L.A. county and Dallas online records search still shows the AMW fugitive Duran as having a warrant. But there is striking enough similarities I wanted to post the article here just to make sure we agree or disagree that this is a different guy. Great find by our reader though regardless (I can definitely see why it would remind of Duran) and while I don't condone the violence that happened to whoever this Duran is, I can't say I feel too terribly sorry for him either. katu.com/news/nation-world/convicted-child-molester-beaten-to-death-in-california-prison-officials-saywww.smdailyjournal.com/news/state/child-molester-slain-by-fellow-inmate-at-california-prison/article_c354e6dc-854b-11e8-beb8-331ab29d9d98.html
