(Above photo credit: LAPD Most Wanted website) Fugitive Profile as of October 11th, 2015: (based on LAPD Most Wanted page) Suspect: Estrada, Frederico Guadalupe Sex: Male Descent: Hispanic Height: 5'04 Weight: 120 pounds Hair: Black Eyes: Brown Date of Birth: May 9, 1979 (36 years old as of this posting) Who to call if you've seen him: Detectives Gasparian or Inabu, Harbor Operations Support Division, Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M., at 310-548-7621. During non-business hours, and on weekends and holidays, telephone the Department Command Post at 213-485-2504. "On Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at 5:00 P.M., the suspect shot the victim causing victim's demise. The crime occurred on the 1500 block of Plaza Del Amo, in Harbor Area. Suspect's motive is unknown at this time." Thoughts? The above admittedly very limited profile is from the LAPD's Most Wanted website. According to a long-time AMW viewer, Estrada was aired on AMW, although I don't know when. Usually I wouldn't post a profile with only a sentence or two crime description but since he's on the LAPD website, we can at least stretch it a little to mention him being one of their most wanted, and even the website admits details of the crime are vague. www.lapdonline.org/all_most_wanted/most_wanted_view/12827Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

AMW aired this case on May 26, 2001. Here's the case description from the archived website. web.archive.org/web/20021213033137/http://www2.amw.com/site/thisweek/E/EstradaFrederico/estradaindex.htmlThe Los Angeles Police Department says Frederico "Dreamer" Estrada murdered 42-year-old Danny Dwayne Warren and tried to kill Warren's 21-year-old stepson because, police say, they were African-American. Police say that Estrada shot Warren and tried to shoot his step-son at 10:10 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2000, as the victims walked home from a liquor store in the Torrance area of Los Angeles, CA.
According to police, the victims passed between Estrada and his associate on the sidewalk of Plaza del Amo Blvd. After the victims passed by, Estrada turned to his associate and asked him if he knew them, say police. The associate said he did not, at which point, Estrada ran into his apartment building, returned with his 9 mm gun, and began firing at the victims, say police. Warren was shot once in the back by a bullet that pierced his heart, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, say police. According to police, Estrada also fired four to five shots at the Warren's stepson, who ran home to call 911. When the stepson returned to the crime scene, his stepfather was near death and witnesses were trying to help him, say police.
Police say Estrada is a member of the East Side Torrance gang, whose members are known for their hatred of African-Americans. According to police, Estrada did not know his victims, but he was involved in a verbal confrontation with the stepson on a date prior to the crime. Police do not know who initiated the confrontation, but they say Estrada called the victim's stepson "myatae" (my AH tay) which means n***** in Spanish. According to police, Estrada is still in possession of his 9 mm handgun and is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police add that Estrada may already be in custody, but they don't think this is likely.-- I want to mention that I censored out the archived website's usage of the "n word" to reference what Frederico called Danny's stepson. Not sure what to make of the LAPD website mentioning that the motive for Danny's murder was not known if there was a very detailed description on AMW's old website.

I figured he was aired on AMW sometime after 2000 but didn't know when to find it. Yeah obviously a lot more detail here than on the LAPD page, which doesn't even know if he's a male. Well now that I know more about this, an obviously senseless and tragic murder and not the first such case involving an LAPD gang member allegedly targeting someone for being African-American (such as with the Merced Cambero case).

As of June 8th, 2018, Estrada is still listed on the LAPD most wanted website, which granted is not the most updated website, but enough for me to reasonably assume that he's probably still wanted as of this update. (Most wanted profile is same link as in the OP)

As of today, May 10, 2021, the murder case against Frederico Estrada in the Los Angeles County Court Records database is still in "case pending" status. The filing date is still shown as in the year 2000 and there was no further movement in the case aside from one entry in 2003. With Federico's placement on the Los Angeles Most Wanted website sometime around 2004-2006, I'm concluding that he is still at large.
