I hate to be negative but AMW episodes are extremely hard to get a hold of, especially old ones, and we've unfortunately had to tell many people that. It's the way Fox ran the show and their copyrights and such I think. Towards the end, the show would be available on Hulu the week afterwards and that was it. It's pretty much YouTube and Vimeo now and not much AMW elsewhere. However, I hope against all odds you track down the episode. The first Lester Eubanks segment aired September 10, 1994. A rebroadcast was done several months later. It was run for a second time on January 14, 1995. Thanks so much for the airdate information jarcudi!

Thats great! Thanks so much! I knew it was sometime in the mid 90's. I thought it was closer to '97-'98 but goes to show how fast time flies.

Now that I think about it, I completely forgot to e-mail you about this. But I'm glad you found out anyway.

I am new to this forum thing, so please bear with me...
I knew a man in Spokane, WA whom I suspected of being Lester Eubanks after I read a story about him from Readers Digest. He goes by the name of Victor T Bray. I had met him at an AA meeting where he spoke and I found him to be very charismatic. We spoke afterwards and I noted his knowledge of the bible (I am a Christian). The time frame during which we were acquainted has ~2002-2005. He became my AA sponsor. I'm trying to make a long story short...
After I read the Readers Digest story, I started observing him more closely. I looked carefully at the shape of his ears and nose. I looked for the scars on his right arm, but he always had long sleeves. He was definitely left handed. The picture below looks a lot like him, but he smiled a lot, so it's a little different. He did reveal to me a criminal past. He always dodged questions about where he was before coming to WA.
I contacted the local police at the time an asked them to look into it. Nothing happened. I also tried to contact the FBI, but they didn't seem interested.
I'm just looking for feedback and/or suggestions here. Not sure I'm right about this guy, but different thing "trigger" my curiosity about this situation. I would love for that young girl and her family to get some measure of justice.

Hey there, I sent a private message unsure if you'd post or not but you did. Anyway thanks for joining and this is very interesting. Usually something like this should be private as to not tip a fugitive off but obviously you already sent in the tip over a decade ago and nothing came out of it so this is a bit different of a situation.
My only suggestion would be to e-mail the Ohio Highway Patrol at ohp@dps.state.oh.us since they have Eubanks on their MW list and maybe they can do something.
Even if this guy isn't Eubanks, it does sound like he was trying to hide something.

Especially since as of the early 90s we knew where he was and was still alive. Speaking of knowing where he is, here is the obituary for his father from 2012. It says he is still alive and living in Columbus. It also says he has siblings who are still living. I wonder if they know where he is: MANSFIELD: Rev. Mose L. EUBANKS, 89, died Monday, March 26, 2012 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Rev. Eubanks was born on Friday, June 23, 1922 to the late Mose and Littie Critchfield Eubanks, Sr. in Blairsville, Pennsylvania.(Indiana County) He had lived in Mansfield, Ohio (Richland County) the past 85 years. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II, self-employed contractor and owner of Eubanks Masonry. A member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where his heart remained, but he answered a calling from the Lord to become the pastor at First Baptist Church of Crestline where he labored until he retired in 2010. He believed in learning and teaching and at the age of 84, Rev. Eubanks received his Associates Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Master's International School of Divinity in Evansville, Indiana. Mose is survived by 3 daughters: Diana Burroughs, Columbus, Ohio, Bonita (Jerome) Morgan, Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Marian Sanders, Bremerton, Washington; 4 sons: Clarence "Butch" and "LESTER EUBANKS", Columbus, Chris (Sheila) Brindle of Tacoma, Washington, John Eubanks of Atlanta, 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a very special and dear friend: Dan Barnhill, Mansfield. Very interesting facts. So if the authorities knew where his relatives are located, why haven't they ever questioned them? Not to mention if the age enhanced sketch was ever published in the local newspapers and shown on the local tv chanels ?

I check in occasionally to see if there are any updates on Lester Eubanks.. He worked for me and I spoke to the FBI after seeing the AMW episode regarding his case in the 1994-95 time frame. I admit I don't remember how long he worked for me.. or even the reason he was no longer working for me. The scar on his arm was distinctive .. it was what made me realize who he was. He worked for me as "Vic Young" in 1974 or so.. I have a VHS copy of the AMW episode.

Hi Joy, thanks for joining the forum. This is very interesting to me you say his name was Vic Young because our previous poster who thought he may have met Eubanks circa 2002-2005 in Washington state says his name was Victor Bray. Also, apparently he was a fugitive during the year you say he worked for you which I'm sure is a little unsettling. May I ask what exactly he did and/or what his personality was like? Perhaps it could give some insight for sleuthing reasons.

Perhaps it could give some insight for sleuthing reasons. Vic (that's the name he used) worked for me at the waterbed manufacturing company in Gardena, CA. He worked in the shipping/receiving area.. He prepped orders for our delivery vans. I remember a few things about him.. he was well groomed, but didn't wear socks.. wore too much cologne (I think it was a trend in the 70's) He rode a bicycle or walked. He was efficient and fairly quiet. He worked for another business right around the corner from our factory prior to working for us. I remember asking him about the scar on his arm, tho I don't recall what he may have answered. Most of our production crew was pretty laid back at the time. (We didn't even require that the guys wear shirts when it was hot during the summer months.. ) Most were just out of high school. He wrote his name on everything.. Clipboards, paper trays, notepads. I probably still have some stuff packed away in storage... Looking back at the old picture albums, he is in none of them. Not even in the background. My business partner was a camera hound and she took pictures of all of our events. Our monthly birthday party, picnics and whatever stuck her fancy. We had a lot of fun back in the day.. take the whole crew to Shakey's Pizza for lunch.. picnic/volleyball at the park on a Saturday. I've had occasional contact with of few people that worked for me in that era.. they remembered Vic, but that was about it. I remember seeing the AMW episode.. it wasn't until they ran it a 2nd time and showed his scar that anything even registered with me. It was "Hey, that guy used to work for me" That was 20 years ago.. I was no longer living in So California and so much had changed in our industry. No more delivery vans, no more retail stores.. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.. I'll check back and see if anything else crawls thru my cobwebs.

Oh wow, it sounds like he kept to himself, which may be why he's been unfortunately successful so far at hiding it. I don't know how much it helps today, but these are very good insights. Pretty creepy though to even have had the guy work for you though I'm sure.

In looking back it was creepy that someone like this worked for me.. but he was a nice guy.. Nothing scary in his outwards appearance.
I've had a lot of employees over the years.. some have threatened me... none really scared me. One was big.. filled a doorway and practically had to duck to get thru it.. I didn't intimidate easily... I've showed a few where the door was. So glad I'm done with that now.
I'm sure his family knows where he is.. sad that a little girl lost her life.
