Newspapers.com just uploaded an article from September 12, 1994 right after Lester's first AMW profile. The only additional piece of information our readers should be aware from it is that he may be claiming to be a minister.

I also read the comments, people were astounded that Lester Eubanks was let out Christmas shopping as a former death row inmate, re-sentenced to life imprisonment. In the decades since the 1970s at least it has become harder for inmates to escape from jail and easier for law enforcement to find those who have escaped. Despite this, Lester has gotten away with the horrific crime he was convicted of for over 40 years. Just maybe, the efforts of publicity from Criminally Listed could find one of these three escapees. |

I want to say I love this addition, I know it sounds a bit hypocritical of me considering I was somewhat critical of adding Brad Bishop to the FBI's Top 10 list, but I feel like with 15 open slots you can afford to take a chance here and there seems to be a lot more promising leads with Eubanks than there was with Bishop.
Also, Bishop was a notorious decades-long cold case, while the search Eubanks was a case that for some reason fell by the wayside and went out of public consciousness (besides some AMW airings) so it's a culmination of the reignition of publicity on the manhunt.

Along with John List, Lester Eubanks would have made a really good FBI Top Ten fugitive in the 1970s, of course we all know about the political climate at the time which would have prevented that type of addition.
I don't have a problem with Lester being added in 2018, as long as the Marshals continue to balance out the remaining additions with relatively recent fugitives.

They're filling up those vacancies pretty fast. After a year and two thirds, I never dreamed the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list would even so much as get revived, but I'm pleased with this!
By the way, can anyone explain to me one more time why the FBI couldn't add pedophiles, child killers, and family annihilators to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted back in the '970s?

What HeadMarshal is referring to is the FBI seemed consumed with domestic terrorism in the 1970's and the list reflected that, things changed once the Vietnam War was finally beginning to be considered by most Americans as an unpopular failure. (There were always protests, but the tide every year had more and more people against it).
