Shi Fu Huang was aired on the November 26th, 1989 episode of America's Most Wanted.
Huang was one of three inmates who escaped from Long Island, New York's Nassau County Jail on Tuesday, November 14th, 1989. The others were Samuel Walls, who was a 53-year convicted murderer, and John Maher, a 23-year old in jail for robbery.
Police believe all three escaped sometime after 6 A.M. that day through a vent in a cell in the maximum-security tier of the jail. The escape went undetected for about six hours.
At the time of the escape Huang was a 24-year old Chinese immigrant who lived in the Bronx. Just a month earlier, he was convicted of killing a restaurant owner in Atlantic Beach, New York.
Now Huang is the only escapee who remains at large.
Thoughts? One of the escapees who I assume is John Maher later did an interview for a website (he only wanted to be referred to as Mick, why he wanted to not be named when all you have to go is Google the case to find his name is beyond me.) Samuel Walls, according to a New York State inmate search, died in prison in 2007. (Which is also why I'm assuming this is Maher as the only accounted for escapee).
Huang is the only unaccounted for escapee and I assume one of AMW's first ever breaking news profiles considering he was aired only 10 days after the escape. According to "Mick", he knew Huang would never be caught because his connections were too good and that he was out of the country in one day.
Wherever Huang is, he'd be in his 50's today (on that note, we could use additional info like what his current height, weight, etc. would be today). But as "Mick" notes, if he was ever caught, it would be amazing, but the odds of that happening do not look too good right now.

UPDATE: I have not found any new articles about Huang since 2013. I am assuming he is still at large as of this update (7/26/2018), since I haven't found anything online suggesting otherwise. However, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
