Massachusetts Man Missing
In November of 2001, police in Waltham, Massachusetts got a call about a missing man. The mother of Oscar Lopez told police she had not been able to get in touch with her son for days and was very concerned about him. Authorities decided to check it out and went to Lopez's apartment. But what they found when they got there made him the center of twisted murder investigation.
Missing Man Now Suspected Of Murder
When police entered Lopez's apartment, there was nothing out of the ordinary - until cops tried to go in the bedroom. The door was locked and when police knocked, there was no answer. Authorities decided to break down the door, in fear that Lopez may be in danger. But when they opened the door, cops found the naked body of a 33-year-old female, who had been stabbed to death and hidden behind a mattress.
After further investigation, authorities determined that the woman was Rosa Alarcon, Oscar Lopez's common law wife. Now, the man authorities thought was in danger is now wanted for murder. Oscar Lopez has a deformed right eye and two gold front teeth and may be hiding out in Guatemala.
Thoughts? Lopez aka Eddie Morales Sandoval was aired on the November 12th, 2005 episode of America's Most Wanted. At the time, he was believed living in Guatemala with a new wife and another child. I don't know if things have changed, but at the time the U.S. did not have an extradition treaty with Guatemala. I know fugitives have been captured and sent back here from Guatemala before but unfortunately there are no guarantees and it seems not so much an extradition agreement but a case-by-case basis. The archive no longer works for profile stats so I don't know what age Lopez would be today. If anyone has that info, you can send it to our e-mail contact form.

UPDATE: I could find no recent articles from the past few years. I am assuming that Lopez aka Sandoval is still at large as of this update (7/20/2018) because I haven't found anything to suggest otherwise. However, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
