Suspect has been featured in local newspapers and was depicted on "Americas Most Wanted". Suspect shot an unarmed 12 year old girl in the back with an assault rifle during a drive-by." Thoughts? I'm undecided on when I'll access the full article, but I was browsing through Newslibrary and saw a brief piece on a 1996 piece saying Jaime Magallon was to be aired on January 6, 1996. They mention the shooting occurred the previous summer which makes this case from 1995, not 1998. Again we can blame the LAPD for not updating their website profile for Jaime properly.

Accessed the newslibrary article and I have some additional information. The shooting occurred on Aug 23, 1995 and a 13-year old girl was also shot and wounded. The 12-year old was paralyzed from the waist down. Authorities say that the girls were deliberately shot which would not make this a case of mistaken identity or a case of shots being fired all over the place.
Magallon had a tattoo in 1995 on the middle finger of his left hand. The tattoo depicts a thick cross with a string of rosary beads running across the top.

Just wanted to add that Newspapers.com uploaded a 1995 article rather after the shooting happened. Readers should be aware that Jaime Magallon was using the street alias "Lil Diablo" at the time of the shooting.

According to an AMW segment on him back in 1996, the girls he shot were targets. Apparently in retaliation towards a rival gang in the area. Assuming he's not still on the run, I wouldn't be surprised if said rival gang got a hold of him before police did or eventually the gang life did him in some other way.
