Ruben Perez Rivera is wanted for the murder of his own cousin. I do not recall if he was ever on AMW on or not but he was at least on their website. I was able to retrieve a partial archive description describing the crime and the unbelievable way Rivera went on the run- please keep in mind this description starts at a partially cut-off point, I tried to edit other grammatical errors as best as I could:
"old son together were at a nightclub and began to quarrel. Soon after police say Rivera took her away in his car against her will and physically abused her. After his arrest Rivera was incarcerated and awaited trial. However police say that Rivera, a Mexican national, was released from jail on March 16th, 2007 due to an Arizona law that states that defendants must be brought to a preliminary hearing within ten days of their first appearance before a judge. Rivera had not had his hearing by his eleventh day in custody so he was handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, who made arrangements for Rivera to be deported back to Mexico.
Later the same day Cops say the problem is that Rivera didn't want to stay put in his homeland and headed right back over the border hours later. Authorities now know that Rivera was headed straight for a place he knew well, the residence of his ex girlfriend Karol Nieves. When he arrived at Nieves' Mesa, Arizona apartment the couple began fighting and Rivera reached for a kitchen knife. However, Rivera was about to find out that he and Nieves weren't alone. His cousin Theodore Cruz Perez had seen Rivera coming and hid in another room. Cops say that Rivera soon found his cousin and the family gathering quickly turned deadly. When police arrived at the scene Perez had been stabbed to death and the manhunt immediately began for Rivera. Ruben Perez Rivera is currently wanted on assault and murder charges. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a black hat. Despite being a Mexican national and a wanted man in the United States police believe that Rivera is still in the country and on the loose."
Thoughts? It seems even Rivera's cousin knew what a dangerous man and got murdered simply for being in the house at the time. It's also pretty ridiculous that the hearing rule set Rivera loose in the first place. He was already accused of the kidnapping of his wife and according to one article it was a PAPERWORK ERROR that caused the slow movement of his case. I feel the court should shoulder some responsibility here, and if I were any of Theodore's relatives, I would have sued.
