Jared Salazar, aired on the February 16th, 2008 and and June 28th, 2008 episodes of AMW, is wanted for allegedly battering his own child to death. I wasn't able to achieve the full case description but did retrieve a partial one, please keep in mind this partial description starts in the middle of the story at a partially cut off point:
"her sister Desiree to come help Desiree administered CPR to J.J but it was no use. The toddler needed serious medical attention. The paramedics showed up and transported him to the nearest hospital. Eva followed in a police cruiser while Jared stayed behind to watch the couple's other daughter. By the time J.J. made it to the hospital he was brain dead. Doctors hoped that a specialist could help the little boy and flew him by helicopter to another hospital. Eva and Jared followed in their car. Doctors soon made a chilling discovery about the 5 month old's life at home.
They noticed that J.J. showed signs of chronic abuse his arms and legs had been broken in the weeks and months prior and his head was the focus of constant blunt trauma. From the x-rays doctors surmised that these injuries were no accident. Authorities tell AMW that J.J was dying of battered child syndrome. At 9 p.m Eva made the decision to take J.J. off of life support just minutes after the toddler was baptized.
J.J.'s mother Eva has not seen Jared Salazar since the day J.J. passed away at the hospital. When Jared and Eva arrived at Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles an investigator was waiting to speak to both of them. Police first spoke with Eva and afterwards she confronted her husband about J.J's injuries. Cops say Jared only admitted to dropping his son during a bath the week prior. Police believe that she knew first hand about Jared's bouts of violence and rage. She claimed that Jared would physically assault her and break furniture when he got angry
Authorities say Eva divulged to them what Jared had told her about dropping J.J. That night was the last time Eva or police saw Jared Salazar. Investigators remain on the lookout for Jared Salazar Police believe that he's still in the Los Angeles or South Bay area and may be hiding out with the help of friends or family members."
Thoughts? As far as I know, Jared Salazar is still at large as of this posting date (10/27/2015) but please let us know if you have proof otherwise. I am rather surprised at how little this case seems to have received, AMW, or elsewhere, after those two initial 2008 airings.
