"Redwood City, Calif – A ten thousand dollar reward is offered for information that could lead to the arrest of Peter Medel Aro, 46, who is in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) wanted list for mail fraud and money laundering.
Aro is believed to be behind schemes that bilked millions of dollars from investors across the United States, many of them, elderly. He allegedly owned and operated two telemarketing companies, Coastal Gaming and WRI Holdings, which operated out of Los Angeles, California. Coastal Gaming customers were led to believe they were investing in a river boat casino and the company received approximately five million dollars in investments. WRI Holdings sold a fraudulent investment in the music industry. This scam brought in approximately one million dollars.
Aro is believed to have left Los Angeles to move to Miami, Florida. His current whereabouts are unknown.
For information on Peter Medel Aro contact the 1-800-CALLFBI (1-800-225-5324)."
Thoughts? According to a long-time AMW viewer who sent us a master list of fugitives from the show, this case has been profiled by AMW. The most recent article is from 2012 so that's a good indication Aro is likely still at large. I included the USPS Postal Service number since I don't see an FBI profile for Aro on their website. However, they have a toll free tip line and I believe you can remain anonymous with them too, so an alternative number to call would be 1-800-CALL-FBI.
Also, one site refers to him as "Pinoy wanted." Pinoy is a term for Filipinos. I don't believe it's derogatory. I believe the site is actually a Filipino news site but I apologize if I linked to something that wasn't. Just please anyone correct me if I accidentally linked to anything offensive.
