Detroit, Michigan Who to call if you've seen him: Based on wanted location, our advice would be to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit a web tip to them at the following link: a056-crimestoppers.nyc.gov/crimestoppers/public/tip-form.cfm Despite being John Walsh's Most Wanted Fugitive of 2000, the last time AMW aired Bablu Hassan was back in 2007. It's a case that appears to be going absolutely nowhere. In mid-2000, Bablu Hassan confronted his ex-girlfriend Chasity Adams in New York City. He kills his ex-girlfriend and then proceeds to slash the stomach of Chasity's five-year old daughter end to end. The little girl survived but required 100 stitches to save her life. So the only online news piece of Hassan's case was from a 2002 Larry King episode transcript where John Walsh was the guest. Oddly enough, Walsh mentioned back then that Hassan was from Pakistan despite the amw websites saying he may have fled back to Bangladash. Wherever he may be in that part of Asia, after 13-years on the run it may be a bit too optimistic to see another Lakshminivasa Nerusu style capture pulled off. This a capture that hasn't happened yet that bothers me since he was John Walsh's first yearly #1 (kind of like how I'm still annoyed Margaret Smith hasn't been caught yet being the first Lifetime fugitive).
I hope to see a Nerusu-like capture happen, but I'm not overly optimistic that he'll be caught anytime soon.

Yet another instance of John Walsh misspeaking about a case that he should know more about. Reminds me of the time he was on Larry King Live and said the wife of Brian David Mitchell was "Linda" Barzee. As for where Hassan is, my gut tells me that he fled to Bangladesh. However, my question is how would he have gotten there? I'm not aware that he had family over here, and it seemed that Chastity was the only person he really knew. Granted he probably got ahold of somebody who lives in Bangladesh, but I don't know. I'd love to know if investigators ever found out where he ran that night. AMW's reenactment portrayed him in an interesting light; after slashing Little Chastity Adams, they showed Hassan running out of the house looking panicked, pausing for a second to run his hands over his face, then running off again. I really wished AMW would have done an update on this on Lifetime. Little Chastity is now 18 years old, and I'm personally curious as to whatever happened to her. |

I unfortunately wasn't able to find a PACER warrant for Hassan but still feel because of how horrific this case is we'd hear I'd there was a capture and I hope one day that happens.
