I haven’t posted on this thread in months and the reason being, there’s really nothing to bring up, I even don’t know who the FBI would choose next if a spot opens up and personally I’m a bit exhausted of the Top Ten List after following it for 19 years now, from the addition of more international fugitives to bigotry in comment sections it really takes its toll.
I also had a personally tragedy happen due to the current drug epidemic in June of last year, which explains why I haven’t posted as much in the past year and why I’ve considered retiring from true crime altogether either temporarily or permanently.

Appreciate your comments and I’m terribly sorry for your tragedy. I remember when I was debating how necessary this website was in 2013 when a case similar to AMW type cases struck my family but that’s not to guilt trip you as only you can decide what’s best for your mental health. With that being said I enjoy your contributions here and you would be greatly missed (and are missed when you go on hiatuses). I think it might help to look at non FBI cases as well. The top ten list is a shiny object for publicity but not necessarily the worst of the worst.

I would note that Justin Smith is now on the featured murder fugitives page on the FBI’s website. I believe he is in prime position to replace whichever Top Tenner is captured next.
Reasons I suspect so:
1) Horrific murder (Patrick Policarpio was added to the list for a similar crime);
2) $25,000 reward;
3) He is a convicted felon.

We mentioned on his thread that he is now an *official* FBI fugitive with a UFAP warrant. And I agree he is now a prime candidate (unless that Seth Altman guy defies the odds and stays on the run longer than usual)

There have been 2 big events that have occurred or I have noticed since I last posted on this thread and that is, the fact that there hasn’t been a capture on the Top 10 List in nearly 2 years, as well as Honduras’ current president Xiomara Castro decided to end the extradition treaty with the United States back in late August 2024 which has been on the books for a century. efe.com/en/other-news/2024-08-29/honduras-cancels-us-extradition-treaty/The fact that the treaty was ended really puts the manhunts of Alexis Flores and Yulan Carias on thin ice, as it means there won’t be any movement in both cases for either a best case scenario, for little over a year as elections in Honduras are coming in 2025/26 and maybe a different party there takes office in a year, or worse case scenario if Xiomara Castro stands reelection and/or if a protege of hers runs for the upcoming election and wins, it could be till perhaps 2029/30 that something is done. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alexis Flores is removed at some point soon given these 2 reasons because It’s a really f**ked situation with this extradition treaty because as it is it’s been very one sided and very narrow in who the United States gets from Honduras (eg; Drug Traffickers and MS13). As much as I want Alexis Flores caught for what he did, what’s currently on the books or lack there of what’s on the books is what prevents justice from being served and it’s frustrating. Also The United States Government for the sake of wanting to combat drug trafficking and MS-13 will do everything they can to get Yulan Carias, so he’ll most likely stay on the list and that’s another reason why it’s frustrating.

I didn’t know they ended their extradition treaty. Granted Honduras was never really helpful in the first place unless it was a drug trafficker but that still sucks. They sent back that guy that was the real life Saul Goodman a few years ago whose name for some reason I’m blanking on. If he went on the run this year he’d be sitting pretty there now and it sets a dangerous precedent as a place not that hard to flee to as an attractive option for any fugitive now (not that I consider Honduras that great a place to live it’s a poverty-stricken country but weather wise it has nice tourist spots at least and is better than fleeing to Siberia).

I agree but like I mentioned in the political thread I think Castro will be booted out of office before the treaty is terminated the population and even the previous president Juan Orlando Hernandez party is in stern opposition to withdrawal from the treaty with the extradition agreement Castro's government has been facing a number of scandals recently and I don't think she will even be in the primary in the next election do to the accusations of drug trafficking and corruption even in her own family anyway I think that Castro will be forced to divert course back to the US because regular citizens are not wanting the drug trafficking to be at the levels they were at and the extradition of key gangsters and key allies of organized crime groups like ms13 or barrio 18 street gang the citizens were actually enjoying a relatively lower narcotics and homicide rate but if they cut out the treaty they will skyrocket and Castro knows this hope im right but considering we have had taken major criminals into our federal court system to face trial but if it happens we'll Alexis Flores and Yulan carias are basically home free

It's odd that Flores was kept on the list while Brown and Fisher got removed when at least Brown has had credible/confirmed sightings after he went on the run. AFAIK Flores hasn't had any sightings after he got deported in 2005?

For the record, Honduras was the very country that was the origin of the term, “Banana Republic.” Interesting how their President has no problems with criminals running around.

Regarding Flores, I wonder if the FBI knows something they're not revealing as to why they're keeping him on but removed Brown. Or perhaps they're hoping Flores being on the Ten Most Wanted keeps pressure on the Honduran government to do something. Some removals over the past decade I understand (Mogilevich being untouchable, Gerena and Godwin were on for decades with no movement, Palmer and Bishop were probably age-related, and many believe Fisher is dead) but there has to be a reason Flores is being kept on while Brown was removed.

I think Ryan Wedding is also a front-runner along with Justin Smith. Wedding is ruthless for a former pro snowboarder: he ordered three murders, and two of the people he had killed were totally innocent and killed in a case of mistaken identity. The fact that there is a $50,000 reward indicates he is really high priority.

We have a thread on Wedding and I read the articles but apparently glossed over that two of the victims were totally innocent. Yeah that is bad.

I’m wondering how he descended to the drug underworld after an Olympic career. Now that is a fall from grace.
