From ctpost.com:
NORWALK — Four years to the day after the slaying of two Norwalk residents, police are offering $50,000 to help catch the killer — or killers.
Rickita Smalls, 22, a 2007 graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport who worked in the bakery at Stop & Shop in Westport, and Iroquois Alston, 27, who had attended Westhill High School in Stamford, were in a car on Aug. 6, 2011, when they were killed on Avenue B in Norwalk.
Their deaths remain unsolved.
Smalls and Alston were dating and in love with each other at the time they were killed, relatives said. Alston also left behind a son and daughter.
At a memorial service a year after their deaths, Barbara Smalls, of Norwalk, Rickita's grandmother, said, “I miss everything about her, but I really miss her smile. She was very outgoing, smiling, a hard worker, and she loved family affairs. Like this right here is something she would be smiling down on, not because of this occasion. She was always smiling and made things seem like everything’s OK."
Rickita Smalls particularly enjoyed drawing, art and baking and she was preparing to return to college when she was killed, her grandmother said.
Winter Alston, Iroquois’ sister, said her brother loved to read and play golf, basketball and football. She said Iroquois had just finished serving an eight-year sentence (for first-degree armed robbery) and obtained his General Educational Developmental Diploma in prison before his release.
"He had just come home on May 17 (2011) and he passed away on August 6,” Winter Alston said. “He had only been home a couple of months," Alston said.
