The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in a joint effort with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (VA), is seeking assistance with identifying additional abductions, sexual assaults, and/or homicides that may
have been committed by Richard Marc Evonitz throughout the United States.
On June 24, 2002, according to his victim, Richard Marc Evonitz, a white male, age 38 years old, abducted a 15
year-old girl in Columbia, South Carolina, and imprisoned her in his apartment for approximately 18 hours while he repeatedly sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to escape and Evonitz fled to Sarasota, Florida, where he committed suicide after being surrounded by law enforcement authorities. Consequently, a trial and
conviction of Evonitz for this and the below crimes to which he is linked is not possible.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Evonitz had previously lived in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and a search of his residence uncovered forensic evidence identifying Evonitz as the offender responsible for the murders of Sofia Silva (September 9, 1996), and Kristen and Kati Lisk (May 1, 1997) in Spotsylvania County.
Documented residences, work-related activities (military and sales), and travel from 1980 to 2002 have shown Evonitz as being in the states of South Carolina, Virginia, California, Florida, Maine, Arizona, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Georgia, Mississippi, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio, Rhode Island, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Texas, Massachusetts, and Alabama. Information concerning vehicles that Evonitz either owned or had access to is also available.
Evonitz was known to have an explosive temper, was fascinated with guns, and both used and sold marijuana. Investigation has revealed some common behaviors in Evonitz’s crimes and/or lifestyle which may help in identifying similar cases in other jurisdictions. Evonitz would conduct surveillance on his victims prior to abduction (all of whom appeared to be or were under the age of 18). He also had a preoccupation with drowning;victims being forced to wash and/or shave pubic hair; binding of victim hands and/or feet; use of sex toys and/or pornography (both adult and child); use of plastic tub or metal container to dispose of victim; victim wrapped in blankets and bound with rope; and/or victim being found near a body of water.
This list of case characteristics is provided for comparison purposes only, please review ALL unsolved abductions, sexual assaults, and/or murders that occurred during the time-frame Evonitz is documented
to have been in your jurisdiction.

Thoughts? The reason I'm placing the Evonitz investigation in the unsolved on tv section is because both the Lisk sisters and Sofia Silva's murders were profiled on America's Most Wanted multiple times between 1997-2000. AMW had also planned to air Evonitz as a suspect in the abduction of the South Carolina girl (not knowing he was connected to the other cases) before he committed suicide.
Obviously, the case is closed as far as the known victims of Evonitz are concerned, but I have a hard time believing he only had three victims. So I still don't think this is over yet and anyone who knows anything more about any other possible additional victims of Evonitz needs to call the FBI immediately to get closure for those families.
