Someone apparently called the hotline claiming to be Robert Fisher. They weren't able to confirm it or not; all detectives said was that some things were said that made them believe it may have been the fugitive. Others believe it was just a prankster.

Ah, I wish I knew what the "Robert Fisher" who called the hotline said on the phone. AMW has had prank calls before.

How's this for bizarre? Police were called to a house in Colorado and told Robert Fisher was there. An arrest was made and shots were fired, but it turns out two men were arrested that were NOT Robert Fisher but were booked on other charges. Neither of them even look anything like him either. In any case, another ironic case of police looking for one criminal, but arresting another one instead. www.9news.com/story/news/crime/2014/10/11/commerce-city-fugitive-80th-and-monaco/17117109/

I'm kinda curious as to what made the tipster think that Robert Fisher was there. At least these two are in jail on their unrelated charges now.

I am curious if the tipster really thought Robert Fisher was there, or if they just wanted to report illegal activity and figured the police would respond quicker if they thought an FBI Top 10 fugitive was in the house LOL

New article out about how there's actually benefits to this latest event in that even though Fisher wasn't at the house it puts his case back in the national spotlight. As for what led to the tip, it's believed the man who thought he saw Fisher at that house may have been under the influence of drugs (makes sense to me). But just to reiterate, it was a bogus tip. Fisher has never been to Commerce City, Colorado as far as the police are concerned, and are not investigating any further. www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/10/14/false-sighting-robert-fisher-arizona-fugitive/17277439/

One thing I think some times overlooked in the Fisher case is despite all the talk about him being a survivalist and enjoying hunting and outdoor activities is that he was actually born in Brooklyn, New York.
I am assuming he was only born there and it seems most of his life and perhaps childhood he has been in Arizona.
But isn't it possible he may still have some sort of connection?
One thing we've learned about fugitives is they are sometimes in the last place we expect. Where better for a guy known as a survivalist and everyone is assuming is living in the woods somewhere to hide than New York City?

Actually that's a rather good point, if he still has family in the area. If he resembles the altered photos the FBI did of him which AMW never aired, then probably no one would recognize him in NYC.

Am i the only one who thinks that far right photo of fisher is a bit creepy?
As for fisher himself, i would think he is living a semi-quality life with a small time, blue collar job somewhere out west. He has already proven to be quite an elusive prey, let's hope that he will make a mistake that will draw attention to himself.

Yeah it is a bit creepy. I also think that is a problem with Fisher. As a blue-collar guy, he would blend in just about anywhere.
P.S. Welcome to the forum!

I'm wondering what everyone makes of the call to the AMW hotline made in late 2001 I think from the pay phone in the area off I-95 south of Richmond, VA (I forget the name of the town off the top of my head) in which I read that the caller I believe said, "This is Robert Fisher. You will never catch me, and I'm glad I killed the b!tch." It could have been a prankster, as no explicit details about the crime were revealed by this statement, but then again there's the chance it was him...and if it was, he's been right about the not being caught so far.
If it was indeed him, I think it's possible he was traveling up the coast on the interstate (95). He could fit in somewhere in Appalachia in my opinion, or virtually anywhere because of his "typical country boy" appearance. Any thoughts?
