From the Miami Herald website (miamiherald.com):
Joseph Guy was giving his friend Evan Antwan Page a ride home in late November 2005 when the two headed into a Checkers drive-through in Miami Gardens. With one car in front of Guy’s white rental Honda, a man approached the driver’s side window with a gun.
Guy handed over money and jewelry. The man walked around the car to the front passenger seat and demanded the same of Page. He was 17 at the time. They tussled. Page got out of the car and chased the robber. He tackled him. But the man got up and pumped a single, fatal bullet into Page.
A decade later, his family still has no answers, and police continue to struggle to solve what they consider a random crime.
“He was going to school. He was trying to do the right thing,” said Miami-Dade Detective Rolando de la Osa.
On Thursday, family members gathered at Miami-Dade police headquarters in Doral to once again ask the public to help find Evan Page’s killer. Three years ago, his brother Ronald Page graduated from the police academy, trying to honor an older brother who wanted to do the same, then move on to the FBI.
“Someone got away with murder,” said Ronald Page, who broke up repeatedly and once had to leave the small conference room to gather himself. “It’s a ridiculous amount of time for this person not to be caught.”
Evan was a senior at Carol City High School when he was killed. He was a member of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and a Police Explorer. He worked nights at a Wendy’s near Allapattah.
“We did everything together. Anytime I was at church he sat right beside me,” said Evan’s grandmother Luella Page. “’Twan didn’t bother no one.”
Luella Page said she was so heartbroken by her grandson’s death that she stopped going to the church they attended together, Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.
De la Osa said Guy, who was 10 years older than Page was, has been ruled out as having anything to do with the murder. He has since moved away from Miami-Dade. The detective said Guy was too shaken up at the time to give a good description of the shooter.
The crime at the Checkers at Northwest 183rd Street and 27th Avenue wasn’t captured on cellphone video and no surveillance cameras picked it up. The only witness gave a so-so description after watching the incident unfold through a rear-view mirror.
The family has come up with a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
“Give yourself up,” Luella Page implored Thursday to Page’s killer. “You had no right to take my grandson’s life.”

Thoughts? The reason I'm placing Evan's murder in the unsolved on tv section is because it was profiled on the website of America's Most Wanted as a "My Story" web-exclusive, where a loved one helps narrate a case. I was able to retrieve the archive where Evan's grandmother wrote in to AMW, and you can view it at the following link: web.archive.org/web/20100225055645/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/brief.cfm?id=55623#case
