In 1988, Guy Emmett Fulkerson befriended a single mother with an eight-year-old son and began tutoring the boy in math in the San Diego, California, area. It is alleged that he also began to engage in lewd sex acts with the child and the behavior continued for approximately two years. On May 9, 1991, Fulkerson was arrested for these crimes and released on bond. He then traveled to the Bahamas and failed to appear for his trial.
In 2011, Brazilian media located Guy Fulkerson in Rio de Janeiro where he was working as a translator. The US government requested his extradition but the Brazilian Supreme Court denied it.

Thoughts? This is another case where we know exactly where the fugitive is, but the local government is refusing to arrest and send him back. We've seen this problem with Brazil especially before, and they're pretty much putting their own children at risk by keeping this fugitive child molester roaming freely in their country. The most annoying part about all of this is that Guy Fulkerson was born in the United States, not Brazil so unless he became a Brazilian citizen then this doesn't make very much sense.
