On December 15, 2000, attorney William Zev Shohet failed to appear in a Cape Girardeau, Missouri courtroom. He had been charged with assault, victim and witness tampering and marijuana possession. William had also committed perjury when he said in front of the Missouri Bar Association that he never had sexual relations with his clients. When he fled, William left 250 of his cases in legal limbo.

Thoughts? It's an unusual case but we can't allow for any corrupt attorneys to get away with their crimes. We place some of our highest faith and trust in attorneys and other members of the legal profession. As far as possible whereabouts, Ancestry.com references the surname of Shohet being Irish in origin, so Ireland could be where he fled to.
