One night in May 2016, 13-year old Brisa Covarrubias and her 15-year old brother went outside their Modesto, California home. As they did that, a car pulled up in front of their residence. Someone from in the car opened fire with a gun at the two teenagers. Brisa died from being shot while her brother survived. David Cecilio Soto was identified as a suspect after the murder. Five other people have since been arrested in the case. Brisa was not the intended target in this gang-related homicide.

Thoughts? David Cecilio Soto is a member of the Sureno's gang and is probably still being protected by his fellow gang-bangers. What angers me about this case even more than most gang-related homicides, is that these offenders knew they were shooting at two children under the age of 16 and still did it anyway!
