From lehighvalleylive.com:
Thirteen years later, police are again hoping a TV show will bring new leads in the unsolved 2003 murder of a Bethlehem native.
The case of Gwendel Talijan Greenblatt's killing in her West Palm Beach apartment was featured last year on TNT's "Cold Justice," and was the topic this month for an episode on "Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen."
West Palm Beach police are using the new episode to ask for the public's help in gathering more information.
The nonprofit Vidocq Society of Philadelphia, a group of FBI profilers, homicide investigators, scientists, psychologists and coroners, previously reviewed the case in 2006, and then again in 2012.
The 35-year-old Greenblatt grew up in Bethlehem, graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School and taught dance for many years at her family's dance school, Miss Jeanne's School of Dance Arts in Bethlehem.
Authorities have said Greenblatt was chased, cornered and then shot once in the head inside her Florida apartment.
Greenblatt was coming home from work, and was on her cellphone with a friend as she walked into her apartment, investigators previously said. The friend heard Greenblatt scream and drop the phone.
The friend called police, who found the wounded Greenblatt in a closet and a .380-caliber gunshot casing in her one-bedroom apartment. Police said they found the front door closed but unlocked, and her dog inside with its leash on.
Police have named Greenblatt's estranged husband, Matthew, as a possible suspect. In the "Crime Watch" episode, police reveal DNA on a burning cigarette found outside Greenblatt's apartment matched a man named Richard Engel. No one has ever been charged in connection with the killing.
Greenblatt's mother, Barbara Piotrowski, was a driving force in trying to find the killer. Piotrowski died in November 2010.
In an interview marking the fifth anniversary of her daughter's murder, Piotrowski said, "I would like to see an arrest. I don't want it to be 30 years from now and I'm not here."
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS (8477).
