The Heaven LaShae Ross missing child/homicide case was aired four times on AMW between 2005 and 2007.
Monday will mark 10 years since 11-year old Heaven LaShae Ross disappeared from a morning walk to her bus stop in a trailer park neighborhood in Alabama. A massive community effort was launched to find her, and a reward fund of 70,000 was compiled through donations. Unfortunately, three years later, Heaven's body was found under an abandoned house.
A new article interviews her sister, wondering what life would be like with her sister who would now have been 21-years old and the agony she felt in response to family members being accused, and also mentions three men who for some reason falsely confessed to the crime.
The article mentions two other girls believed to have a possible connection to this case. Although for how lengthy it is, it seems they neglected to explain themselves and say who these girls were so I found another link. Shannon Paulk of Prattville, Alabama was abducted from her trailer park neighborhood and later found deceased. Teresa Melissa Dean disappeared from her Twiggs County, Ga. trailer park community and is still missing to this day. Shannon and Teresa, like Heaven LaShae, were both only 11-years old. Many speculate these cases can be related and a serial killer may have committed these horrific acts, but federal investigators so far have been unable to gather enough evidence to determine that.
All these cases are so sad, and it's such tragic irony that this girl's name was Heaven.
I hope the anniversary will breathe some new life into this case as I'd really like to see the coward who could abduct a murder an 11-year old girl be brought to justice.
